Some say yes, but I tried all sorts of things (not hot baths, though... Those aren't supposed to be good for the baby) and none worked.

I'm in the same boat! I am in tons of pain all the time, pee every hour and have high blood pressure. I have considered asking my doctor to induce at 37 or 38 weeks, but I don't think he will. I am so ready for the pregnancy part to be over and for my son to be here!

I am full term next week so I might try some spicy foods and stuff. Walking is difficult bc of back pain. I weigh 250 now, only gained 10 lbs though so thats good. but still its rough. My water broke with my daughter but my labor wouldnt progress so they gave me pitocin. It was hard and lasted for 24 hours... to the minute. my water broke at 11:20 pm and my daughter was born 11:20 the following night! long labor! easy pushing! Ill wait tho! ill try b patient! lol

docs may consider it. I personally wouldn't. Yes, it's uncomfortable and painful at times and that sucks. but part of motherhood. Kiddos need to be in there so long for a reason. They think they had my due dates off AFTER they induced me on my supposed due date, but turned out gee, other date was closer to it. daughter born about 3 weeks early and had a hole in her heart. Had to be in NICU and all that. They said it probably would have closed/grown shut on it's own had she been in there full term. My hips hurt too. Chiropractor, stretching and yoga help tons.

inductions...read up on the drugs if you're going to be induced. Some of the side effects are just..well, to me not worth it. Not worth what it does to mom or baby. a couple weeks of ouchy hips, or a baby who could end up with brain damage or something. 5 weeks early is pretty early. All the aches, pains, sleepless nights...I'm going to be hormonal this morning and just say...sorry, comes with the territory. Hips hurt after baby too. Then you have sore nipples, waking tons of times for nursing, then teething. It's not a super fun joy ride. It's motherhood. It's worth the pains in the long run! I've been induced. think you're in pain now? wow, those contractions that come from inductions make you feel like you're being ripped in half. shudder. no thanks, i'll wait. two weeks AFTER my due date if needs be.

I have the same issues that you are having, with my daughter i did everything, sex didnt work and eating spicy didnt work. The walking finally paid off and she came at 38 weeks 1 day! With this one, its a boy, he is a big boy and i asked my doctors the same thing about induction and my drs told me if you have a active abby with your second pregnancy alot of the time it will only tkae one strong kick or movemnt and they can send you into labor. i am on a watch alert because they have seem him being so active that i lose my balance. Is your baby a strong kicker nad move alot? The only think i could offer was try putting something cold on the top of your belly and if you baby dont like it then they will kick as hard and as fast as they can to get away from it! I also did that with my first1 Good luck thou girl. I am due june 27th and dont think i can make it threw june being pregnant! so i can totally understand where you are coming from.

well its good to know that it isnt just me. i hate being pregnant and i dont think i can keep this up for 6 more weeks. thats just crazy. by then i think this babys leg will pop out of my side. i'll look down one day and there will be a leg comming out of my side. there is no more room. i can't sleep and can barely move. i've gained 37 pounds. i'm so done with this. omg. i want this baby out of me!!!!!!!!!!

I am 34 weeks too! I feel you on the no sleep! I can't get comfortable and the pressure is crazy! My dr told me he would induce me at 38 weeks but I think it all depends on the doctor! I am not having any medical problems with this one I just asked to be induced bc I was with my first one at 38 weeks! Goodluck and hope it gets better! Maybe yours will be her soon!

My doctor wont induce without medical reason until 2 weeks post due, she thinks I'll deliver around 38 weeks again though. I feel like crap as well keep telling my belly 'alright chicky leave the dang nest' but no luck thusfar lol. I don't know if I'd want to be induced I've had a couple of friends go through it and their labours went horribly so I'd rather wait till the baby is ready and gets things going on her own but thats me. I'm actually cut off because my hubby thinks having sex will put me in labour :( I've told him time after time how friends of mine who were post due had all the sex they could handle without it resulting in labour but he's stubborn. Good luck everyone, and to the OP at the very least pregnancy does have a definate end date even if it seems like a long way off you wont be pregnant forever :)

i dont know every doctor is different usually they dont induce unless there is a health risk..

I agree with Nanette, Teri...I'm terrified of the idea of recovering from major surgery! I'd much rather push a 10lb baby out and risk tearing, than be cut open...not only that, but ultrasounds (growth scans) can be off by 1-2lbs!!! So your little girl could be smaller or right on for her gestational age.

Like I told Nanette, we signed up for the 40+ weeks of pregnancy, issues and all...:( you should really just wait and see when your little girl wants to come, instead of making her come at the earliest possible time...

i totally know ow u feel, i have all this 2, the back ache is a killer, i 2 want 2 b induced at 37 weeks, i find out on the 16th may if they r willin 2 do it, the only reason they r thinkin of inducin me early is coz the baby is big, at my last growth scan on 4th april she already weighed 4lb 11 oz puttin on half a pound ever week after. u do have 2 have a medical reason for goin in early, i asked 4 a c-section but they wont give me 1 unless something is wrong. i just have 2 wait till 16th 2 find out if she is still growin at the same rate. i hope so just so i can have her early.

I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow and I feel your pain! I'm ready to be done but my midwife does NOT induce unless: low fluid, baby in trouble, or over a 10 pound baby...blah! I was having a few contractions earlier but nothing progressed...I'm about ready to jump on a horse and take a long ride! :D hang in there, we'll all make it EVENTUALLY lol

Yes on Saturday I was crying and crying. I called doc and told em I couldnt breathe (like literally I couldnt) n they could care less. lol. I was like I HATE BEING PREGNANT n my hubby kept saying im sorry im sorry (his saying is) "you could have rejected me" lol. I did nipple stimulations with my daughter too. I am not into the masturbation thing. lol. thats just me tho. lol. People say my bellys not that big (with my Lilly people were surprised I was 40 weeks bc they said I looked 20 weeks) so I know im not huge but man I feel like it. getting up off the ground our outta bed or outta chairs. wow just rough. lol. I feel bigger then I am! My SIL is due a week before me. Yea im june 11 shes like the fourth or something. She has 2 kids already n she never looked pregnant with them, but she now with this kid looks pregnant. She is already diated and having contractions she went at 37 weeks with both her kids. she is over 6 feet tall and my brother is 6feet 7 inchs. they have big kids. My neice whose 3 is wearing size 6 cloths n my nephew whose 2 is wearing size 3t n 4t cloths. there big kids! tiny at birth but they grow like weeds once there out. my lilly on the other hand is like a slow growing flower. shes still in size 12-18 month cloths and only weighs 23 lbs. I love how tiny she is. makes her babyness last longer. my hubby n i are both short so I guess they make huge kids and we make tiny ones. lol. dont know why i told u that. lol. Guess just that I am hoping my SIL goes before me or after but my mom cant watch her two kids and my one at the same time if we both end up in the hospital at the same time. im 35 weeks shes 36 weeks. so my guess is she will go next week. I want to go, but for a safe and healthy baby I want to wait at least until im 37 weeks. sheesh the waiting is hard! thanks for your encouragement!

Completely understandable! I think every woman has days like that where they're just like "RAWR GET THIS THING OUTTA ME!!" lol!

You're due June 11th, right? so you're about 5 days ahead of me...technically you only have between 2-5 weeks left, because he really could potentially show between 37 and 40 weeks.

Even if the walking didn't help with your daughter, I'd definitely be trying it still! With my last pregnancy, once I hit 37 weeks I just (TMI) had sex/masturbated on a regular basis, and did nipple stimulation with my breast pump. She showed up at 38 weeks 2 days. I also ended up eating a whole can of pineapple like, the week before I went into labor.

:) Your munchkin will be here soon enough...as hard as it is to hear it! Trust me, I know!

lol. I was having a rough day this day! I am still feeling crappy but ur right its what we signed up for when we got pregnant! I am trying to hang in there. 5 weeks. I might try the spicy stuff and pineapple but walking never worked for my daughter she was 2 days over her due date and sex... ha farthest thing from my mind! Poor hubby I know Im gonna have to give it to him soon! lol. But still not something I want to do to try to make me go into labor! lol.

:( sorry to hear that you're still feeling like crap...I can sympathize with the hips aching and horrible sleeping...however that is all part of pregnancy, as much as it sucks.

The only real reason that your doctor would more than likely induce you, is if your blood pressure decided to cause even more issues. At least, this is my understanding...my doctor wont do induction until after 40 weeks unless it's a medical emergency.

I know that's probably not what you want to hear, but we did sign up for 40+ weeks when we got pregnant...issues and all. :(

The only suggestion I can make, is that once you make it to 37 weeks (considered 'term', where 40 is considered 'full-term'), try every natural way to induce labor that you can think of (except castor oil...I wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole.) Walking, sex, masturbation, nipple stimulation, pineapple, spicy foods, bouncing on an exercise ball, etc.

Just try to hang in there until at least 37 weeks, so that baby has a better chance at being healthier and not ending up in the NICU. :(
