So back2sleep is the best to prevent SIDS, Now a days, however it use to be belly sleeping was safest... My lil one only would sleepin her nap nanny because of her sever acid reflex ... Well she started figuring out how to wiggle herself in to dangerous situations, so doc said try the carseat ... Which has to be uncomfortable, but she does ok ... 8:30pm to at least 7:30 am... But now she's wanting to sleep on her belly...anyone else let their precious lil bundles belly sleep?

When they can roll over, they can sleep on their tummy, so says my doctor.

I had no choice but to put my boy to sleep on his belly. I started at 3 mths. At 3 months is when i decided to transition him from bassinet to crib. the only way he was going in that crib was on his belly. I had a huge meltdown because of this but now he is 7 1/2 mths and its the only way he sleeps. It really helps with the gas buildup he gets at night. Honestly you gotta take what research says as advise not what you have to do. it gets overwhelming all this you need to do this you have to do that... your the mother and you know best

Now that I know that my 7month can easily roll over, I'm confortable knowing she is sleeping on her belly.

I let both my girls (now 8mths & 2.5yrs) sleep on their bellys from about 2-3mths, when they could lift their heads and move from side to side so they didn't sufficate. The had great head control from an early age so i wasn't soo worried. Before that i would side sleep and have a wedge (or even a rolled up blanket/towel) next to them so they didn't roll onto their bellys. My girls absolutely hated back sleeping and would wake as soon as i put them down. My SIL's were mortified and still are that i put my 8mth old to bed that way.

once they can roll from back to tummy on their own, it's okay for them to roll on their tummy to sleep. Put them on their backs, and if they roll over, it's okay.
Also, it wasn't that belly was safest, it is that babies tended to sleep 'better' on their bellies, so that's what was done.
