I would get down on the floor with my daughter and lie in front of her and play. it kept her attention and she started to enjoy tummy time.

My daughter had a really big flat spot, she is now almost two and it is almost gone. My son is now 6 months and he has the same flat spot. On both we did not do a lot of tummy time. (not like they want you to do anyways) At 5 months my son started tummy time on his own. He now rolls over on his belly to sleep and rolls all over the living room.

Don't work about the flat spot. Most babies are getting them now that they really pushing sleeping on the back. Back when they wanted kids sleeping on their belly they also got flat spots, they were just on the side of the head (personally the back of the head is better) And as your kid grows it will disappear

I'm having the same problem, my baby is almost 6mths and she has spent a lot of time on her back and i also find that her head is flat from too much time spent on her back and she also does not like to be on her stomach, so i can relate. I guess that as mothers we have to commit to tummy time, although it's unpleasant even for the parents.

but yeah put them in a jumparoo is too early at 5months , i would recommend to put him in it when at least 6months-7months though, as i reckon there's no point put them in it until they can walk or crawl .

hello my little boy is 5months he don't really like being on his tummy , but prefers to be pop up right all the time , will only lay down when hes tired...he can roll from his tummy to back but gets very frustrated as he can't do it sometimes. you can sit them up properly , as their back is straight , it won't cause Problems if they wanna try sit up , you can't stop them ... 5months is okay for them to be sitting up . either propped up with cushion behind or not.

I just let my kids cry it out a bit and they both eventually liked tummy time. DS is now trying to get up on knees already! I wouldn't put them in an exersaucer/jumparoo yet unless they can sit up on their own. If you put them in too early, it can cause back problems in the future.

try to wait a hour after they eat. they can get a tummy ache if it is right aftterward. try putting the on your legs instead of derectly on floor. i got piano that my son loves pushing it while he is on his tummy. we have a play gym with activities for him too. if they can sit supported try excersaucer.

my son is almost 6 months, he still hates tummy time. he rolls over only when I am not looking or if I lay him down with his arms close to his body. I just put his favorite toys around him so he is looking from side to side and he grabs the toys and chews like crazy on them. I put him on his tummy and when he starts fussing I help him roll over to his back. I also sit on the floor with him and jingle his toys above so he has to life himself up to look at them. Hope this helps.

Hi you can get a special pillow they are on amazon there is a heart shaped one or a butterfly(I think). A friend of mine has one and says it is really good. I have bought a disco light and J will go on his tummy more watching the lights go round!!

Felicia, I think Tummy Time is important and my little one does not like it either.. I just made it a habit to put her down RIGHT after a nap when she is most rested and happy and just built up the time gradually. Start with just one minute... I let her fuss but not cry. She gradually has built up to 10 minutes/4 times a day and is even reaching for toys while on her tummy. She is 5.5 months old. I also just let her roll around on the floor and she ends up on her side alot or even rolling all the way over on her tummy. She still can't roll from tummy to back yet. I also put her in an exersaucer with a towel around her middle for support. And I believe there is a special pillow you can purchase if they sleep flat on their backs.

im having the same problem but my son doesnt have a problem with tummy time actually hes learning he can get around by rolling. and my pediatrician said the same thing to keep him on his back, well her and i go round and will continue to.lol my son has a flat head and im not liking it. kinda weird but a blessing at night he rolls onto his side and sleeps during the day time when he passes out i try to make sure hes on his belly or put him in swing i havent got one of those pillow things yet for him but im gonna and i think i need to start propping him up in sitting position during the day kinda hard he like to stand up not much of a sitter but sitting up will build back muscle

I do the Bumbo and Jumper a lot. Trust me, they will eventually like tummy time. As for the flat spot, my pediatrician said not to worry too much about it. My 5 month old has one on the right side in the back...it's not too bad and she said the more he and the brain grows, the more it will fill out.

My daughter hated tummy time....so I put her in her Boppy so she was propped up and she wouldn't get a flat head. She grew into tummy time...she loves it now but she also loves her Boppy. I also make sure that she spends a lot of time sitting up in her Bumbo. She wants to see all of the action and hated being on her tummy. Worked for my little one! Good Luck!

Do you have a jumparo or exercaser they are old enough for those and then they wont be lying down also do you rap them when they sleep i always switched from side to side to back so they wont get flat heads, i know the populer beleife is to only let babies sleep on there back but flat heads have side effects including eye sight issues as there iss a nerve in the back of there head, My son never did tummy time i mean never lol it was realy hard and im sure its not easy for you with two they sell air plane tummy thhings gets them of the floor but still on tummy. Honestly anything to get them of there back is going to do the trick it dosent have to be tummy time. Good luck
