Complications and high risk pregnancy =/

I am due September 10th. Around 7 weeks I had really heavy bleeding and feared I was having a miscarriage. I had an ultrasound that day and baby still had a heartbeat. A week later I had a follow up ultrasound and everything still looked just fine, the bleeding had also stopped. Well yesterday (Feb 16th) at 10 weeks4 days I was waiting for my OB in the exam room, I started cramping really bad for about 5-10 min, then there was another gush of blood =/ My doctor looked horrified at the amount of blood and immediately sent me to have an ultrasound. That's when we found out the bad news :( The placenta was more than half way detatched from the uterine wall, there was a large hematoma behind the placenta and the placenta was covering my cervix (placenta previa). Baby still had a heartbeat of 120 bpm but seemed a bit distressed, and my cervix was still closed. My doc scheduled me to have another ultrasound today, and well, it's a miracle! Almost everything has fixed itself! The placenta moved up and isn't covering my cervix, the hematoma is gone, and there is only a little portion of the placenta that is still seperated. The doc did see some blood clotting and there is a spot where the membranes have seperated from the uterus. Baby was bouncing around and had a wonderful heartbeat of 180 bpm! My doc said most likely I will go into preterm labor because of the membranes being seperated, but it could fix itself. Scientifically everything that ''fixed'' its self over night is impossible, this little baby is a fighter and a miracle. Please keep my baby in your thoughts and prayers. I would like to make it full term, but I would take a preemie baby over no baby any day!

Wow, after a roller coaster ride of a pregnancy, my little girl is here! Eliana Jolie came on her due date of 9/10/11 :) She was born at 4:24 am weighing 7 lbs 8.9 oz and 18.5 inches long. She is healthy, beautiful, and such a sweet little girl. I am just so blessed to have her after everything we went through. I was in labor for 4 hours and took only one contraction to push her out, I also got to reach down and deliver her myself. Such a special moment!

I am also due on sept. 10th- 9/10/11 :) and I had bleeding at 28 weeks and was in the hospital for a week. I was already considered high risk and my baby was two weeks behind in growth. The bleeding stopped and I was told it was from a minor tear of the placent from the uteran wall, but my baby was monitored closly becuase of the complications and high risk. I was allowed to go home but I had ultrasounds twice a week. When it came time for the next growth ultrasound we found out the our baby had fallen behind another week in growth. Now we go in three times a week for ultrasounds and have been taking it day by day. I hope everything continues to go well with your pregnancy and know you are not alone :)

I found out at my last sonogram I have placenta previa. And of course everything you read on line is enough to scare the sh!t out of you. My doc is doing another sono around 20 weeks, to see if its moved.. untill than im on the no sex diet! just great!! lol But hopefully it moves, theres so many complications you can have if it dosent. SO im praying it does move, as of last week it was completly covering my cervix!

They had no idea what caused it, but I just pray that time and some bed rest will keep you and the baby ok.

Hi Patricia, thank you for the prayers. Do you know what caused the cramping and spotting in your pregnancy? I went to the ER last night for awful pains in my lower abdomen. They did an ultrasound and found that the hematoma is now larger and causing the placenta to separate from the uterine wall. I hate not knowing what the future holds and if my baby will make and be ok =/

You are in my prayers, that is scary and makes you feel bad that there is nothing you can do. My cramping and spotting stopped around the 15th week so be hopeful that it will get better and that prayers are answered.

Hi, I have my next midwife check up on friday 25/03 which will cover 16wk plus extra for having been bleeding. As I've not really had any cramping nor pain as such they suspect I may have cervical ectropion which has gone down well with hubby as it means any slight touch on my cervix can set me bleeding again, as such have been advised to avoid intercourse throughout this pregnancy. Not too sure how well I'll cope later either as I craved it towards end of my first pregnancy but guess will wait and persevere. Will let you know of any further developments. Hope you remain ok, take things as easy as possible, I'll keep you in my prayers. Best wishes.

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that! A lot has happened since I posted this and have not updated. The hematoma never went away, it's actually gotten bigger. It's right at the edge of the placenta and if it gets any bigger it could separate the placenta from the uterine wall. I have been bleeding so much. The bleeding episode I am currently in has been going on for almost 2 weeks now. They believe I was pregnant with twins and one of the twins never developed. But the sac is still there and growing, but filling with blood. I'm also on pelvic rest and cannot lift more than 15 lbs, my 12 month old son is 21 lbs. Will they be doing another ultrasound sometime soon for you? I have my 10th ultrasound next week. I'm hoping everything is getting better and maybe we can see the gender. There's nothing scarier than bleeding and cramping during pregnancy. Especially when you can't find out what's making it happen. I hope everything gets better for you! Keep me updated please

Hi again. Have just had my own scare, with week long bleeding at 13wks into term. Scan showed no problems, but I got given anti d as a precaution being rh neg. Have been advised to avoid heavy lifting where possible, which isn't easy with a 15mth old daughter, and rest. In the past they would have advised bed rest til bleeding stopped but they don't do that now as it can apparantly cause other problems with clotting and dvt. Still thinking of you, especially with same due date.

Praying and try to stay off your feet, even if they didnt tell you that! With my first I had funneling and was told by my first doctor there was nothing they could do other then put me on bedrest. I asked if it would go away she said no. I got a second opinion and after 4 weeks of bedrest everything was fine and the funneling was gone! It's amazing what the body does!

Wow, sounds like you have one determined baby. Will definately keep you in mind. One thing to remember is bleeding doesn't always mean the worst and can be helped with bed rest and putting feet up. Take things easy and hopefully you'll have a fighter to the end.
