As parents, we do tons (putting it mildly) for our kids. But, how do we teach them to be energy-conscious? Is it lead by example? Are they responsible for a certain energy project in the house? Are they part of your family's "green team"?

I think what you're doing with your son is great. I agree, when they're this young they don't understand (or need to know) why -- they just need to see it. I firmly believe in the idea of "never too young"...so many people dismiss what kids can do or what they can learn because they're "too young". If you start early, it just is how life is, not a habit that needs to be changed.

I try to get them involved in everything that i do. They are still young enough that it seems fun and helping mom is a big thing and i try to explain to them why we are doing it. My son is only four and i dont think he really understands why we do it, but if this is how he is raised then hopefully he will do the same when he gets older. I think that having him help me out is a good thing and explaining it. When you ask him he will say why we do it almost verbatim but once he gets older he will understand the meaning of it too.
