We are going to see a doctor about my sons eczema on monday, though he will probably refer us to a dermatoligist i reckon.
My little boy is now itching his chest so much it bleeds, is there anything i should do so it doesnt get infected??? E45 and Sudocrem doesnt work, and we put mittens on him to prevent him scratching. But it was quite distressing to see, as i've never seen him itch himself before. It was so red and sore.
I have eczema myself, and when i was younger i used to itch so much it bled, and i just remember how much it stressed me out, and of course it got worse.

Any soothing tips? Thank you

My 6 month old son as eczema as well and the dr. prescribed hydrocortisone 2.5%...it is stronger than the one you buy in the store and it seems to be clearing it up a little bit. We also use an over the counter cream called Aquaphor that seems to relieve the spots that aren't too badly broken out. I hope this helps. Good luck...I know it it is tough battle finding the right remedy.

I found a lotion for my son and it healed his eczema up in about a week. I have to continue using the lotion to keep the eczema under control, but it has been a huge relief for both of us. He no longer is scratching until he bleeds and isn't crying and upset all the time either. We tried all the prescription products and over the counter lotions and creams, but many of them were dangerous or had risks with using them. We went a safer route and found a lotion we won't live with out. We also got rid of all the chemical in our house. This helped his sensitivities too. Send me an email if you want to hear more about what has worked for us. jessica.hultquist@gmail.com

I remember those days of feeling helpless!!! Really, the dermatologist can't do much except prescribe more creams. We use an Asthma/Allergy Pediatrician which has been more helpful than her regular Pediatrician and the dermatologist. Plus, finding what your child is allergic too helps you avoid those items. For us it was oatmeal!! She has since outgrown and testing should be done every 2 years. My personal preference is the blood tests, not the skin pricking testing. The reason is that the blood test will show late response reactions much sooner than the skin pricking which they test and check over a one hour period.

I give my son two baths a day and use a lotion called Dermasil...... it works good but he doesnt have eczema that severe, I hope it gets better for you.

use aqueous cream to bath him, and hydrocortizone cream on the eczema, also some antibiotics for the infection he may already have. if that doesn't work my son is on vallergan and dexamethasone for his eczema which is alot of drugs but its better than him ripping his skin to shreds
