I have 2 grandchildren (6 and 3), and wonder if I am missing the grandma gene. They live within 5 miles of me, and after 2 hours of "quality" time, I am ready for a tranquilizer. I don't see them often . When I am invited I show up and am glad I go, but am reluctant to "grandma time" due to my limited tolerance. Am I alone?

im a 50 year grand mother of a 11 year old boy...my daughter has to go to court after 11 yers this idiot wants visitation rights this guy is bad news .but the system is on his side. my daughters lawyer is a b....c how can can refuse visitstion rights

Being a grandma is the best status to happen to me, since becomeing a mother. I aquired two grandsons when my daughter married into a ready-made family, then she had two sons to add to the blended family. I can honestly say that I love all my grandsons, not equally in the sense that they are cardboard cutouts; rather I love them for whom they are as individuals. Each child has contriubted to my heart a special warmeth only for them. I am humbled to be their grandma and nana.

I have a unique grandma experience. I am 50 but have two grandsons in their 40's, and four grandsons ages 10,7,2,and 1 years old. The eldest boys are all step, the 2 & 1 year old are biological. But in my heart they are all mine and not just a step-child. Yes they all call be grandma and my husband grandpa Bob. We have been blessed with our lovingly six grandsons.

I am Gramma Sharli to 6 grandchildren and 1 on the way. Lexi is 14, Nicole is 11, Savanna is 10, Jordan is 8, and Daniel is 4. They are my eldest daughter Mandi's children. She is 32. Then my daughter Laura, 27, has Mariah who is 2. Mandi is expecting her 6th child in Jan. 2012. My son, Aaron who is 23 has no children. They all live within 20 miles of me and I love it. I am very lucky.

Yes I'm a grandma....my grandchildren call me Nan. I have an extended family... Her children( my Partner's ex) His child and & my children ... so all together we have 7 children, 9 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren.... Love them all & wouldnt change a thing.

So happpy to know there are grandmothers on this website. Empty nest w/a new grandma excitement, well acutally our one and only grandchild, boy, turned 6 yrs. old. He came & stayed with us for a few days. I was so happy to have him here and missed him when he was gone.

Lord Yes, We are here! I am blessed by God to have 3 granddaughters. I love being a Gramma more than anything I ever had the God given gifts to do! We Gramma’s have a VERY VERY IMPORTANT JOB! Keep Loving those young-in’s and remember to teach them about the Golden RULE. It’s been lost a bit. If they are struggling. WE must be there for them. Remember WHO WE THE PEOPLE are & let them know WHY they are blessed to be born when & where they were! I smile & my heart fills with overpowering love at the thought of them. Children may have challenges but WE Gramma’s are READY for them.

Yes, I have three grandsons and another baby (hopefully a little girl) on the way. They are all my greatest joy. They have been better than any medicine a doctor can give me. I babysit them all Monday - Friday and I keep them overnight as often as I can. Their ages are 5, 2 /2, and 2 1/2. The next one is due at the end of July - to beginning of August. They have also been a blessing to both of their great-grandmothers. I wake up everyday and thank our Lord for having and being able to enjoy them. They call me Maw-Maw and my mother Mee-Maw. They are the reason why my mom is still alive and looks forward to each day.

I am Nana to Madison who will be 9 in Sept! She is the light of my life! I love her to piecess and yes Huggs& Kisses is what I love the most, and just to hear her say "Nana, I love you" melts my heart! Having a girls day out with her is such a joy.

I'm grandma (actually Nannie) to five; 3 boys and 2 girls. I'm a tough love grandma and my grandchildren know I expect the best out of them (and I usually get it).

My oldest grandson is 18 and he still hugs and kisses me...no matter where we are and no matter what friends of his are around.

They all know I love them and would fight a buzz saw for them, but I'm tough too.

I am still working as a director for a school, but where do I get my most satisfying feelings? From my grandchildren who live close enough to visit often. This time of life is so fulfilling. I love being a grandma! Those little hugs and kisses make me feel so loved and needed. To walk or play or just sit and read a book with them is lifes little pleasures that i didn't realize would be so needed and enjoyed!

Hi I am nanny to 11 grandchildren ranging in ages from 1 yr (this month) to 11 yrs, one set of twins (boys) and 2 step grandchildren. I was waiting for one of my children to break the drought as at one time I had 7 grandsons and no thought that there would ever be a girl in our circle. Then my son met a lovely girl who brought 2 girls into the family and it was such a joy, now have 7 boys still and 4 granddaughters with one daughter to still have children after losing 2. I don't have time to have "special" feelings for more than one as they all visit at different times or are spread around the country it makes life very difficult. But do love them all and they all know it cause they can ask "nanny" anything. I do love my time with each and everyone of them. Dianne

I am a grandmother of 4. Donovan (4 yrs.) Chyanne (3 yrs.) Adeline (6 mth.) and Malcolm (3 wks.)! It is the best job ever and I look forward to many more over the coming years. I have 5 children and so far 3 of them have given me grandchildren. So, I still have two more children to go. Plus, the other plan to have more children! Can't wait!

I am a new grandma, our little angel is 7 months old and has two little teeth and is currently taking swimming lessons with mom. She is the most precious thing in all our lives! I can't get over how quick she picks up on things!! Times have definitely changed since my kid were born...
