Hi,
I have started a new Circle Group called MOMS and MENOPAUSE because I am going through it myself and couldn't find something about it on the Circle of Moms site.. If you have any questions or would like to post some tips to help the rest of us, please join us. Also, please tell your friends. I have posted some links to menopause websites for help us including 34 Symptoms of Menopause. I look forward to getting to know you.

you know I did HRT for a while back about 9 years ago. I know that they have come a long way since then, but the sickness in my stomach was the same as when I tried to take soy and other treatments in the past. I wish I could ask my mother how she made it through all of this, but she died when she was 48, just beginning to go through everything. My Aunt was very late going into "the change", almost 62 when she stopped having a period. She had her own way to deal with the problems, she would go and plow up a field and it would make her feel better. Can't do that, but I can sit down and talk to myself. Anyway I have learned so much in the past 2 years, so I think I can get thorugh this. And my doctor must be going through it also, she was just off the wall the last time I was in there, I am looking for a new doctor, but she was just bizzarre. I told her more information then she ever has given me about this time of our lives. So I guess i am good for the moment.

You are not alone in what is happening to you. I know that I too have experienced a lot of the same mental fog. It would help you to print off the signs and symptoms list and bring it to your Dr. to discuss it with him to see what he says. There are some very good books out there about Menopause, and also some websites. Dr. Christianne Northrup has an excellent book with very helpful tips. You can find it at your library or bookstore. Sometimes when we don't get enough sleep, we can experience times of forgetfulness, misplacing things and not remembering where they are. I have been on HRT for the past year now and have found that it has helped me a great deal. The hot flashes have disappeared almost completely, which I am very grateful for. Talk to your Doctor.

I wish you all the best in your journey. Sometimes, it helps to talk with other women who are experiencing the same things, which is why I created this Community. Stay in touch and let us know how you are doing.

Hugs,

Bonnie

Hi everyone,
Just a friendly reminder that there is a Moms and Menopause site in Circle of Moms where you can connect with other Moms experiencing some of the same issues and get some answers to your questions.

Search "Moms and Peri-Menopause or Menopause" and join.

We welcome your comments, questions and connection with other Moms.

In Gratitude,

Hi Julie,
You are not alone as most people going through the peri-menopause, menopause stages have very similar symptoms and stories. I am one of them. Though, I am also on quite a bit of medication for my Trigeminal Neuralgia (severe nerve pain), which also have similar side effects...along with quite a bit of weight gain, which I am not happy about.

I had to go on a mild dose of HRT (Angelique) which has done wonders for my Hot flashes and mood swings.

I am not a medical expert and recommend that you talk to your Dr. about what is happening so he can rule out anything else by doing some bloodwork and checking your hormone levels, and will also be able to give you some suggestions on what to do to cope.

I wish you all the best as you try to determine what is best for you at this time.

Hi Heather,
It is an open group, so anyone can be a member. Just join in on the conversations, and get to know others going through what you are going through. It is helpful to be supportive to others and we will do the same.

Welcome,

Thanks, Bonnie for posting the highlights, with detailed info. about menopause symptoms. My question falls under the disorientation category.

I've been experiencing menopause for about 5 years or so and just recently, have been experiencing a lot more memory symptoms like saying the wrong name when addressing someone, this morning, almost putting a dirty garment in the recycle bag instead of the dirty clothes bin, (that's a new one) in the kitchen I open the wrong cabinet when trying to put a plate away and even open the wrong drawer for some silverware, my mental sharpness isn't as keen, and I'm just not as "on top of things" like I used to be. Are all these concerns symptoms of menopause or am I prone to Alzheimer's?
