Im so thankful that I found this group I have been dealing with this for 18+ months my son will be 5 in two months and he was finally just diagnosed about two months ago.We knew something was going on because my son was potty trained at one point in time I, along with my son are learning to handle his accidents, but I guess I just needed to see that there were really other people parents like me who have done everything they possibly could and feel like everyday is 1 step forward 2 steps back. Although my son is seeing a Gastro specialist, I dont feel like that is doing anything to help, the laxatives just get it out of his stomache and then it's our problem of where it goes. Sadly, I thought that visit to the GI would be the fix all little did I know that it is the start of a long road. She told me that it could take at least a year or more and Im not sure that time will make this go away. Im sorry Im going on and on but Im very relieved I guess Thank you

Stacie, I think it helps just to know there are other families out there dealing with similar things. We don't have a formal diagnosis, but I'm certain our daughter (age 4) is struggling with something along these lines, and has been for about a year and a half too. She just simply won't permit herself to "go" no matter what. I'm pushing our dr for some sort of occupational therapy or pyschologist referral. He insists on continual laxative use, but I don't think it is the solution....just makes a mess even worse. Not sure where this will lead. Guess we've got this group to lean on though!

If you see this, leave this form field blank.
