What classes/grades will you be teaching this Fall?

I will be teaching two sections of Honors British/World Literature and three sections of English 10: American Literature when school starts in September. The British/World Lit. class is a new curriculum. It was formerly strictly a British Literature course. We brought American Literature down to the general 10th grade course just last year...so it is a course in development. In addition, I will be mentoring a new teacher in our department, and I serve as the department chair. OH Baby, I better enjoy this summer!

I'll have 3 sections of 12th grade English IV and 3 sections of 11th grade AP English III. I'm also the senior level leader. I'm trying to really relax and enjoy these last few weeks of summer before the whirlwind of school begins! :-)

First semester I will have two sections of 11 Honors (British and World Lit.) and AP Lit. Imagine the grading! Don't the rest of you think English should be a year-long course?

I will be teaching two Honors English 12 and three, maybe four, English 12. In my part of Virginia, English 12 is British literature.

I'll have four sections of American Literature and two sections of Language 10. We're on a block schedule, so I don't meet with each kid every day. You'll have to let me know how your English 10: American Lit class works out -- ours is for juniors. It's a required class, so I get everyone -- whether they like it or not! ;) It's also a class they have to pass in order to graduate, so I usually have a few seniors in it the second time around. Ironically, they are the ones who try to get the juniors to turn in their work -- so many times they have been the ones who say, "Turn it in! If I had done my work last year, I wouldn't be here!" Gotta love it when they do that!!! Of course, if they had listened to the seniors in THEIR junior class... :)

I'm tentatively scheduled to teach 4 sections of CAHSEE English and 1 section of Yearbook. We'll see whether that holds up!
