He is now 10 weeks old and still does the samething.. the doctor said he was a picky eater since he will cry while eating.. At one bottle he may eat only 2 ounces while the next one he'll drink 6, it's never the same amount. The doctor reassured me that the baby will now starve himself unless he was sick. He is gaining weight and does not have any feever therefor there is nothing wrong with him.. Just have to be really patient with him LOL

My daughter does this too. I just let her eat the amount she wants as long as they are gaining weight my doctor told me not to worry about it. Sometimes they just aren't as hungry as other times.

My Lily is 7 weeks and goes from 2 oz to 4oz a feeding. Sometimes she'll stay up for hours and eat an ounce every hour or so. I just feed her when she is hungry.

my son just turned 10 weeks and he eats anything between 4 and 6 oz every 2-3 hours. usually at night before bed he takes 6 oz and will sleep 4-5 hours without waking up. but during the day he will eat 4-6 oz at a time.

I have 8 week old twins and the girl usually takes 5oz. every bottle no problem but the boy takes between 3 and 5oz. each time it just depends. It is totally different between babies.. but they are both gaining weight and have normal pee and poop diapers so the doctor said not to worry. They just are hungrier sometimes than others.

I was wondering if I was having the same problem myself!! My little girl would sometimes eat 5 ozs and she was only a newborn!! My pediatrician just kept telling me to let her eat what she wants.. so finally I got her down and content with a 3 oz bottle. She's almost 5 weeks old.

My son is 6 weeks old and still only drinks 3 to 4 oz at a time. He has tons of wet and poopy diapers and weighs 12 lbs and was 7# 9 oz at birth so every baby is different I think 3 to 5 oz is just fine..

My boy is a month old and will eat between 4ozs and 6ozs per feeding. I also breast feed!! I guess there are no guide lines to a baby's appetite!LOL

That is completely normal. Sometimes your baby is more hungry than at other times, just like you. As long as he has clear urine in his diaper and has several wet and/or dirty diapers a day he's getting plenty to eat.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one dealing with this problem.. I guess there's not really anything to do than just let him eat what he wants...

I'm dealing with the same thing. I've read that by week 5 they should be eating anywhere from 4 ounces and more. However, my little boy is 5 weeks and will eat anywhere from 2-4 ounces per feeding. Not much consistancy. Sometimes, he just nurses the bottle but doesn't eat anything.
