hi ya, my daughter was one on the 8th oct n took her first steps a week after, she still a bit wobbly but getting there. Was so relieved when she walked as everyone elses kids seemed to be doing it quite earlier. dont worry, they all go when they are ready!

My youngest just turned 1 on holloween and hes not walking. It takes time to get use to standing befor walking. My oldest didnt start walking untill after he turned 1. My youngest stands with help and hes just now getting gussey enough to try to stand on his own.

please do not worry as they will walk when they're ready. before i was getting worried as well as he just crawl and he was almost a year. but after came back from vacation in paris/london last week, he walks automatically :) i bet your son is walking by now...

My daughter crawled early at 7 months and was pulling herself up and walking around the furniture at 9 months, and would stand by the toy box without holding on, but didnt take her first step until 11 months and then it was just the odd step until a few days before her birthday. I tried holding food and toys just out of her reach, while she was standing but she would just drop down and crawl to me, or throw herself on the floor in a tantrum. they will walk when they are ready.

When you hold his arms and walk him around hold his hands very slightly instead of firmly gripping. Also hold his hands so they are more by his sides than over his head, it's more uncomfortable for you but it helps him get his balance. Once he's doing well with that, take one hand away and keep him walking.
This helped a lot withy daughter!

my kaylee was doing the same thing,she is 1 in two weeks, but how we got her to do it is we handed her something like a shinny ball or something that she loves and call her saying whats that and she would walk to us and we would cheer and she got so happy by us cheering that she started trying to walk to get the applause. she walks all the time now

Don't sweat it! My 11 month old twins do the same. he'll come around when he is ready. I heard boys are generally later walkers but don't think that is necessarily always the case.

My son turns 1 on the 30th and is starting to take a few steps. I am terrified for him to start walking. LOL he is a hurricane now he'll be a tornado once he fully gets it. I never understood the rush of wanting your baby to walk, as someone said it's not reversible. I have friends that had babies that walked before a year and many after. The parents whose babies walk before a year are the ones that tend to BRAG and make you question if your child is behind! But like everyone said. They'll walk when they are ready.

hi my baby 1 on 14th oct and she want even put pressure on her feet and when she crawls her legs are so far apart she looks like she doing splites..i took her to see doctors and hes picked up a problem with her hips now am waitin to be seen and the hospital am really worred about her..any advice is welcome..thanks everyone..

My Oct 13 daughter doesn't even stand or cruise. Her version of standing on furniture is on her knees. Just mastered crawling this month! :-(

my daughter is 1 on the 19th oct and she dont walk yet just crawl nd lift herself on her knees but thats it lol she lazy but babys take there stuff at there own pace just let it happen naturally my nan says to me all the time she should be walking but i think she should be walking when she is ready to i like it this way she can stay my baby for that lil bit longer ;)

My son is 11 months old and will be 1 year old on the 8th of october, he still isnt walking and as yours he crawls and cruises , he even rides on baby truck with no guard on it, he goes and down it by himself, its great to see but not walking yet. My other two walked at 10 months, I am not worried and there is nothing you can just let nature take it's course. i heard of babies not walking at 24 months!!

The average for a child to start walking is 13 months. Which means it could be months on either side. Try to be patient. My son's first birthday is in 2 weeks and he still isn't walking.

hi my daughter is 11 months she was 7 week eairly so corrected she is 9 months she has only just learnt to crawl n she not walking either . i sugest just keep doin wat ur doin n he will take off 1 day

My little girl is 11 months and refuses to walk... she'll stand up and jump the fall on her butt and cry... but will NOT walk... it comes with time they walk when they want to.

my son was born on 10-27 and he doesn't walk. he doesn't even want to crawl on his knees, just belly style. don't worry about it, it will happen all too soon and then he won't stop!

My daughter is about the same age. We were at a play yard and she saw another little girl, the same size as her, walking around. Now she doesn't want to crawl anymore. Peer pressure! ;)

Don't be in such a hurry - crawling is good for them! It builds muscles in their hands that they need later for writing, throwing, catching... The left/right movement of crawling helps to cross pattern their brains so that one side will 'talk' to the other. It's not a race, my first did the same - cruised from around 10 months and didn't walk till 14 months. My second looks like he will probably be the same, rest assured there is no need to start worrying just yet!!

my son is 11 months also and i have just brought him a push along walker he loves it was walikng around with it within mins he has walked 2 steps to me but think was a spoof as he as your son wont do it again would rather crawl.

My son is 11 1/2 mos, and he just started standing up on his own. He only does it maybe once or twice a day, though! He won't even walk with me if I hold his hands, he just pulls his legs up and won't even make an attempt to walk! He cruises around the couch, the coffee table, and pulls up on everything, he just won't stand on his own or with help! I guess they're all different!

My son turned 11mths on Sept 5th and hes still not walking. He will do all of the same things as your son. Our 2 older ones were walking by now but it still doesn't bother me. He will start walking when he's ready! He would take 2 steps at a time but just decided that he wasn't ready yet. Don't rush it, he will do it when he's ready :)

I wouldn't sweat it. My 2 1/2 year old didn't walk until she was over a year. My 11 month girl loves walking around holding on to chairs, ottoman, couch, etc. She will stand propped up against something. But, she's made only 1-2 tentative wobbly steps before falling on her hiney. My 11 month old did everything you described exactly until about a week ago.

My son has just turned 11 months and took his first couple of steps in the weekend - I actually took him outside on the grass as he loves it outside and just started walking with him holding his hands then let one go - hes still not walking everywhere but is standing on his own and dancing :) its a start.

My almost-11-month-old isn't walking on his own yet either - but the doctor told me as long as he walks by 18 months, it's no problem. I'm sure he'll be running around on his own before you know it!

yeah my daughter is 11 1/2 mths and still not walking either - I'm not worried though she'll walk when her legs are ready - my son however was walking at 10 mths - I think the average age is somewhere around 14 mths?

My daughter is one on october the 7th and she isn't walking either. She crawls, stands and walks around the furniture, holds my hand and walks but if you let go she sits straightback down and crawls. But remember all babies are different and they will do it in there own time. Just tonight she worked out how to walk forward in her walker.

hey. my son will be 11 months the 29th of this month and he started walking Sept 2nd, i was so shocked and surprised, and excited... now he wont sit still LOL, he just got up on his own and started to walk. his sister is about to be 4yrs old so im guessing he wants to follow behind her and his only option was to walk.

My baby can walk with her push toy and cruise along the furniture. She is 11 months this week. My husband always says how easy it will be when she starts walking and I have to laugh. (This is his first so he doesn't know what he's in for) My oldest walked at 9 months.

my daughter was 11 months on the 10th. she took her first steps on Aug 11 th a day after she was 10 months old. I was looking forward to her walking and was SO excited to see her first steps. now she is walking everywhere. It is too early for you to be concerned. I love how cute it is watching my lil girl walk, but at the same time miss when she couldn't because now she is into EVERYTHING!

after her first steps it took about a month of getting her to walk. My husband and I are coffee drinkers and our daughter always tried to get our cups...we used them as bait. I have videos of her walking 5-7 steps coming towards a coffee cup. when she would get the empty cup she would pretend to drink from it and look so proud haha.



now my baby is running and I am trying to catch up! enjoy the slow crawling moments!!!!!!

i have the same problem with my youngest he will be 1 on the 28th oct he crawls and hold onto anything he can and walks but wont do it by himself i get so frustrated cos my daughter was walking by herself at 9mths old but im not concerned bout him not walking as said before they will do it when they are ready not 1 kid is the same as another they do everything different and at different time and i get the wanting them to walk cos they are too heavy it feels like m arms are going to break off if i carry my son more than 10mins i have to keep swappiung arms lol

My son started walking August 1st. I was sooo suprised I started crying..Almost 10 months n walking. Now Im chasing him EVERYWHERE! :) Hes already tryna run..n climb. ohh no!!! :)

My son is the same...just turned 11 months...has taken a few steps by himself but prefers to either lean right over to hang on to me or to drop and crawl...his sister had already been walking for a month by this age...but we are not worried...every child is different..and obviously our boys feel comfortable using crawling to get what they want...my son still manages to get into everything so I guess he feels no rush to walk....just keep being positive and encouraging when he does try or walks holding on to you and he will be walking before you know it ;)

Doctors really don't get worried about walking until after 15 months. My son is the same age and hasn't started to walk either. He will come to it in his own time. I just figure that's less that he can reach for now.

My son does the same thing he holds on to things and watches his big brother do everything. My baby is going to be 1 on holloween. It will come in time. My oldest was 1 befor he started to walk. It takes time.
