My little angel is crawling everywhere she can, and stands up anywhere there is something to hold on to. She will let go for just a few seconds but thats it. I bet she is really close to walking, she loves following us around the house.

I have twins girls. One gets around by rolling and pivoting in one place to turn. She can get pretty much anywhere she wants to go. I suspect she'll be crawling very soon as she has held herself up on all fours quite a few times now... she also pushes herself backwards sometimes. The other doesn't seem very interested in moving around right now. She can pivot and roll but she seems content to just sit and watch her sister. Am trying to motivate her with toys but she usually fusses and gives up right away. Every day she tolerates being on her belly for linger and longer though so I am sure it will come.

hey lucky u my lil man nearly 9 months an aint crawling but pulls himself up soo don't no wat he gonna do if he'll crawl or get up an walk

Until I joined this site I didn't pay much attention to the development of other babies. My son being my first, I just assumed his learning progression was normal. I know all babies develop differently, but I'm starting to realize my son is extremely motivated, and I'm not sure I like it! He has sat up unsupported since 4 months, pulling himself up to stand since 6 months, and now he is standing on his own and walking several steps before he sits down again. He skipped crawling altogether by walking on his hands, and butt in the air since he was little more than 5 months. The first week he used his walker, he quickly learned how to pull himself out of it, and even though it was on the lowest setting I didn't want him to give himself brain damage trying to escape. My mom calls him houdini because the only thing he hasn't escaped so far is his crib. We've returned the walker and sold his swing, and we had to replace his infant carseat with 1 that restricts his movement better. He even learned how to walk the netting in his playpen while holding the side to climb out and over! His toys interest him very little once he can mimic the sounds. He is very curious and constantly into everything, and he is so incredibly strong that I'm exhausted trying to keep up with him and I'm only 23! He was born the 24th, only 2 weeks premature, and I really didn't do anything special while pregnant other than healthy eating and iron supplements in addition to prenatals. To my extreme sadness he is growing up way too fast, but my consolation is hope for a bright future!

My daughter is standing unsupported. She can stand up from a sitting position now without holding on to anything. For me, this is way early! My other two kids weren't even crawling until 9 months and walked at 11 months. So for her to be crawling at 6 months and trying to take steps and standing alone at 8 is crazy!

yeh mine have done 3 steps, he done a step when he was 8 months. it is early. they usually say they should be walking at their first birthday. he be one on 0ctober 7th and it looks like he might walk very soon but i dont want him to grow up too soon, means im not having any more. once they start walking and talking they not babies anymore then are they. so even tho im proud as punch i dont mind if he crawls for few more months. my first was 10 months and i thort that was too soon

all babies are different this is my 2nd child and he is raring to go but i still think it is a bit to early for him to just get up and go although i incourage him to walk a little way and help him stand i dont want to set him off to early they not babies for long and their legs and bones are still not 100% ready for the next stage yet, he usually walks around in his walker it takes some of the weight off his legs as he loves to stand rather than sit now. good luck you doing an amsome job its deffinatly the most rewarding job ever xx

My son got the hang of crawling at 5 1/2 months, but was able to walk long distances by holding onto my hands. He first pulled himself up around 6-7 months (because all the interesting stuff was on the couch or endtable), and began cruising shortly after. He started taking shortcuts by taking 2-3 quick steps between couches/coffee table, then at 8 1/2 months walked to me from about 8ft away. Now he will judge the distance, and if its under 5-8ft away he will walk to it, but if he knows its further and doesn't think he can go that far, he will just get down and crawl instead. The furthest he's gone is 15 and 20ft, and he can walk around the community with me by holding onto my finger.

my little one only puts pressure on her legs when she is in her bouncey seat. She doesn't crawl yet, but she is still so tiny. She is still in some 0-3 clothes at 9 months.

My daughter was 9 months on the 7th and she started crawling at 7 months and now she is standing up on everything she can grab on to lol she is taking some small steps and she is really good at the furniture walk i bet in another week or two she is going to be all over the place

My son is pulling himself up, will stand supported by his toys, couch or daddy and I. My husband started to encourage his walking with us holding his hands. Our son is so funny at times, he will look as if he is doing Downward facing dog... his but in the air and his hands and head down tying to figure out just how to do this

Not yet, but close. She glides on the furniture and pulls herself up. She has been getting on her knees and pushing herself with her hands trying to stand up on her own, but she just can't yet. In a few more months I think she'll be a walker!

My little girl has been crawling since 6 1/2 months and been pulling up and walking while holding onto something since 7 months. I have to keep things that I do not want on the floor out of her reach. Last week she started to try to stand by herself, she has gotten up to 5 secs now before falling. She will walk holding onto anyones hands. She has now started to squat down to pick something up and stand back up. Her daddy was running by nine months so I look for her to be at least walking by then. I just encourage her to do what she wants when she wants too. By the way she is 8 1/2 months right now.

My little guy does the military crawl and he only started that AFTER he started walking with support. He likes to try to chase his older twin brother and sister around the house so he holds on my hands and we just go. He has gotten pretty fast. Now if I'm doing chores or homework he military crawls around the house lookin for me. He know just where to look for me. Computer desk (homework), Kitchen or in the bathroom with one of the twins. Too cute

my boys was crwlin at 6months and started climin and walkin aroun d the furniture a few weeks later but he never trys to take any steps on his own soon as i let go of his fingers in drops to floor to crawl.

my girl cannot crawl yet but has always loved standing on me.
she can stand and hold onto a coffee table now.
no where near crawling let alone walking.
I'm fine with it. less chasing her at the moment!

my lil guy pulls himself up and walks along the furniture but doesn't walk on his own.. he will let go as long as his body is still touching and one time I don't think he realized he let go and took a full step to get to the next couch, it was so quick you would have missed it if you blinked... hasn't done it since

Yeah my daughter was born oct 20 and she is so close. She can stand unsupported now but is a little stubborn and wont take those few steps unsupported but scoots around every other way!

My lo has taken a few steps on her own, and I wish she wouldn't... She's already super fast with crawling, and I feel like I'm missing out on a lot of the baby stage.

But, for the most part, she rolls and crawls like a mad woman to get where she wants to go.

My son is crawling and can pull himself up on the furniture and walk around it. He is not quite standing without support yet but is only holding on with one hand now. It will not be long before he is walking I cannot wait!

My little girl is the same although not quite standing alone. She stands with only one hand or even finger holding onto something but hasnt been game to let go yet. She walks behind things and is forever climbing on things. They will be off before we know it. My first didnt walk until nearly 18months old. Im not ready for her to walk so early!

My little boy has been crawling around since 6 months and standing up, pulling up on things & walking along holding onto furniture etc for the last month or so. He's not standing unsupported - still pretty wobbly! - but will take a walk with me holding his hands.

Well, all children develop differently, some fast, some slower than others, it's good that he is striving early..encourage him, my son also does the same thing, I help him walk by holding his hands, one sometimes and he does get around on his own as long as he has things to hold on to, he's attempting to walk by himself, he stand alone but not yet stepping off, by the end of next month hopefully our lil' munchkins will be more active than before, as they will be walking, BUT, some kids prefer to keep creeping til' after a yr...but ours will b soon walking....

My son seems same as yours. He is standing with support like chair, etc... and walking a few steps holding my hand. Or sometimes he steps aside with sofa. It is little bit of earlier than others I heard. Isn't it sooooooooooo cute when they walk??
