My baby is now four months old and our ped told us to start him on cereal... He won't touch the stuff. Our ped told us he could start jar food at 5 months. Is it ok to mix some fruit jar food into his cereal now, or should we wait?

I don't know where you're from but, The Canadian Food Guide doesn't suggest starting solids until 6mos. If your son is happy with his current diet of formula or breast milk I wouldn't recommend pushing solids until he starts to show signs he's ready for them. Cues include - watching you eat and mimicking your actions, waking during the night for a dream feed when he had otherwise been happy and sleeping through the night, eating more more frequently.
My midwife suggested introducing fruits vs. pablum to start. It's easier for baby to digest and it makes introducing solids more pleasurable for baby.
