Ok so my LO will be one on the 1st of Oct and she is a great eater I usually give her formula in the morning 8oz then around 3or 4 anothe bottle then right before bedtime. i have tried giving her milk but she wont have it. i usually give her formula warm but i do not want to go throught the whole having to warm up the milk thing again. how can i make this transition as smooth as possible. Also she drinks from sippy cups but what about removing the bottle compleatly. I thought if mayb i introdue the sippy cup with the whole milk at the same time it would make it easier... Suggestions please!!

I started giving my Son 1 milk bottle a day for 2 days then 2, then 3 (the rest of his bottles a day are formula. I warmed them the same as I would the formula and he took it no problem.

I was thinking about this today, there is a type of powdered toddler milk called Nido at walmart in the aisle with all the Mexican spices and drinks and candies. It might help with the transition. I know that both my kids love it.....

My daughter will be one on Oct 4th and I started giving her half whole milk and half formula about 2 weeks ago. I had to do it very gradually n keep her on it longer due to her being on special non dairy non soy formula since birth. But anyways what I do is poor 4 oz of water in her bottle warm it for 1 min in microwave then I put 2 scoops of formula in, then I fill the rest of the bottle up with cold milk. It comes out to be the perfect temp for her. Believe me it wasn't easy to get her used to the taste because she had never really had dairy before! Warming it is the easiest way to transition them into milk. If I'm out an about n need to make her a bottle I just stop at a coffee shop and ask for some tea water and I mix her bottle using that. N if anyone was curious I do always check the temp before I give her the bottle : ) I plan on adding another 2 oz of milk within the next couple of days so she will be drinking 6 oz of milk and 2 oz of formula. Within the next month she should be completely off formula. Don't rush your little one and some babies don't do well if u just rip the bottle from them and take it away completely, your the mom you'll know when your baby is ready to have it taken away. I tried only giving my daughter a bottle at night n using sippy cups during the day but she took it really hard and REFUSED all food! So, my opinion is that I would rather give her the bottle then have her starve herself because she is that stubborn. It lasted 3 days before I gave it back to her during the day, like I said she ate like a bird during that time. My goal is to gradually take the bottle away by december being the latest. By then she will be 14 months.

My son did the same thing, sorry but you may have to go through the whole warming the milk up thing..... it makes it easier because if your daughter is used to having warm formula it may help her to go the warm way again. I'm not one to gradually do something like that.... Also removing the bottle completely do it definitely. the longer you hold off on it the more attached she's going to become.. take it and if she uses a pacifier that too..... it may be harder but you'll thank yourself in the end....... and so will she for not having to have braces her whole life...... Ive heard the children who stay on bottles and pacifiers too long risk having crooked teeth..... and believe me braces are painful

i would try to put regular milk in the sippy cup when you give him the sippy. try at least once a day till she gets used to it or likes it. my son would rather have regular milk then formula. all i did was switch back and forth from the formula and regular milk. i have to put oatmeal in with my sons milk which i think dies down the taste and makes it taste similar. but i wouldn't actually know since i don't taste it. i would try to give her some regular milk with like two scoops of oatmeal or rice in a bottle. and see if the helps. let me know if you have any luck.

I'm starting whole milk with my LO tomorrow, we are going to add an ounce of cold milk to room temp formula and gradually increase it weekly.

I would say gradually introduce milk to your baby, a little every day. My baby is breastfed and the first time I gave her cow's milk she spit it out. I just kept giving it to her every day, and gradually she started keeping it in her mouth. Now she chugs it. It took about a week I think. Also, I use the sippy cups that have a soft mouthpiece, so they are more like the bottle and easier to suck from. My LO won't drink from the hard ones yet...she just doesn't know what to do with them. I also never warmed up the milk, just gave it to her as it is. Good luck!

Hi. The thing that worked for us was to water down the milk, ie. just add water, half and half milk and water then gradually build it up to whole milk again. I also found that some of my kids wouldn't drink it unless it was warm, so into the microwave for 20 seconds did the trick. I only introduced sippy cups for water as otherwise I had milk spilt everywhere in our house and gradually phased out the bottle over time, like just for bed or early morning feed, with the sippy cup during the day.Hope it helps but I wouldn't rush her too much.

you could try mixing the formula with the milk (first mostly formula so she doesn't notice and the half and half, then mostly milk, then only milk)..i think over a week or 2 you could have her on only milk. You could also try giving her milk in with the food she likes (mixed in oatmeal, soak adult cereal in it, mixed in with cooked egg yolks etc) to get her used to the taste. Hopefully this helps! Good luck :)
