Grunting???

My daughter doesn't grunt but she is always huffing and puffing. I think it is because she is working so hard at crawling and trying to reach for her toys.

It's just a new noise he discovered and he's trying it out! :D I love all the new noises they make at this stage. They're really figuring out cause and effect (here comes the drop and pick up game) and realizing that they can make noise other than crying and get attention for it. My daughter squeals/screams for no apparent reason at random times. It's too cute!! Enjoy!!!

I would be happy if my little Mika was grunting. She is doing this weird thing with her voice where she is sucking in air and making a sound that reminds me of the exorcist.

My baby was doing this last night and would not stop I would look at her and she smiles at me then just keep on grunting after 10min of her doing this I finally went to get her some more formula and she fell right asleep. Huh

My son grunts alot, and is a very happy baby that laughs and smiles at everyone. he scrunches his face and tightens his arms, somtimes he even spits. Then he smiles or does it again then smiles. It is so funny. My family just bursts out laughing when he does it. I wondered if it is a bad behavioral trait. I was wondering if he is frustrated or mad at times or just a fun thing to do. For now we let him go, it is fun to see all of the new things he can do.

My son grunts all the time when he is tired and fighting sleep. I think it is really funny and laugh out loud and he just looks at me funny for laughing!

Same! Fletcher is also grunting' I think its a form of communication. I check everything too eg. nappy & sometimes he is either wanting more milk or his gums are bugging him, or he is trying to reach a toy and is getting frustrated or he is tired!

My little man grunts all the time!! Its just a new noise he has learned! He loves making that noise.

Babies this age are just exploring thier voice and finding out what different noises and sounds they can make. Completley normal x

My son grunts all the time. Sometimes for pooing or farting. Sometimes when he's trying to reach something. Sometimes when he's trying really hard to pull something to him or kick back from something. It's so cute!

My son grunts really bad when he is pooing!!! We have a rule at our house, who ever is holding him or last held him when he starts grunting has to change his diaper! But he does grunt for no reason at all too. He is the happiest little guy. I think he does it for attention when he thinks we are not paying enough attention to him.

My daughter grunts all the time too. It is a new thing and we don't know where she got it from but think she is just experimenting with sounds and listening to her voice.

My little man grunts all the time too...I thought it was because his older sister is obsessed with animals and animal sounds - it sounds like he is just copying her...so not sure what causes it but our little man is one of the happiest babies I know so I don't worry about it...I guess it's just a sound they have realised they can make and just are enjoying communicating with us....even if they are communicating like cave men ;)
