my wee man turned 5 months yesterday, and this morning he sat up by himself half lent over for a whole 5 mins then as he went to go to the side he actually put his hand out to stop himself toppling :)

My son turned 5 moths on March 11th. He is trying really hard to sit-up on his own but not quiet there. When I sit him up he can balance himself for a little while his record is 22 seconds. LOL

My daughter started to sit up at 4 monthes and is 5 monthes tomorow and she confidently sits up, she is a bit of a clever girl sitting up early. And is also almost got the crawling down pack.

my daughter will be 5 months march 26th. so far she cant sit up on her own but if i sit her up she can keep sitting up, but she tires out quick, about 3 min is her max at one time. i think the normal time frame for sitting up on their own is around 6 to 7 months

my daughter has not sat up on her own yet, but she is small. only 11 lbs. I saw a baby much biiger than her sittting up. it'll happen when their little mussles are ready, just keep holding him in a sitting up position sometimes and when his body is ready he will. Every baby is different

My daughter is 5 months and has been able to sit on her own for the past week now. She will sit and play with a toy and keeps her balance very well. She can usually last about 5 minutes before she tips over.

My daughter turned 5 months on the 10th and has been able to sit by herself for about a month now..she still leans forward though. she can also stand for a few mins if she is holding onto something (like our coffee table)
every baby is different though

My Son was 5months on the 9th of march, he trys his hardest to sit up he can lift but he is still wobbly he can sit 4 like a second! he is on his way to crawling tho, il give it a few more weeks, he has a very strong head so thats a plus for him =]

My baby will be 5 months on the 18th and he has been sitting up by himself since he was about 4 months I think? He doesnt pull himself up though, I have to sit him down and then he stays sitting. He tries to pull himself up and it looks like hes doing sit ups lol

My daughter Amaya will be 5 months on March 16. She sits up with help, and we can take our hands away for maybe 10 seconds the most and then she starts to fall either to the side or backwards. If she leans forward she tends to get stuck and gets mad lol. She'll be doing it soon enough!

My little girl is 5months today 15th march and she can sit up by herself also she turns to lie on her tummy and goes on the crawling position and just trying hard to crawl, so she doing it in a stationary but moving forward and backward if u know what i mean. i think its too early for her to do that, coz my little boy started doing this things when he was 7months.

Fletcher is trying all the time. He sits up on my lap sometimes unaided! He trys pulling up when he is on his bouncer and rocker as they are on slopes so it wont be too long until he is sitting, he is 19weeks old.

My son didn't push himself to a sitting position until he was about 6-7 months, but my daughter is sitting stably already, if I put her there. She's 4.5mo.

My son ((born Oct 2)) does pretty well with sitting up on his own.. he can do it for almost 2-3min now.. still a bit wobbly but getting there.. just gotta help them.. i sit him up and put his boppy pillow around him this holds him up and if he tips its a soft pillow so no worries!

my daughter was 5 months on the 7th march. she sits up and plays for quite a while without assistance. She started sitting up at 4 months 2 weeks. She is starting to scooch. Every baby is different-so don't worry overmuch about it. they all develope at different pace.

My daughter turned 5 mths on 01 March. She started sitting propped up at 4 mths. But still can't sit on her own yet. We prop her up and she sits very steadily. She has just started to sit upright on her own in the stroller. She leans forward and holds the front tray and sits rather steadily. She just started to roll over this week. And I thought she was fast at her age to be doing that and didn't realise that some can even sit up already on their own. Am surprised to discover that. Wow!!!

My son Johann jus turned 5 months March 7th and once i prop him up with pillows he will sit on his own. He is also trying to pull himself up once he has a strong grip on something or someone. Moving fast i think.

My daughter is just over 5 months and has been able to sit on her own the last couple days if we put her in the sitting position for her. She can push herself up almost into the sitting position, she's just on a bit of a lean when she does it herself. We think it won't be long before she is crawling now too. She has done a couple little bursts of crawling and then loses balance and lands on her tummy. So cute to watch. % months is classed as a little early to be sitting on there own, don't be surprised if it doesn't happen until after six months. Just remember all babies develop at different rates.

My five month old daughter (turned 5 months on the 10th) can sit up by herself - she will by on her back and just raise herself up. I am always amazed at her core strength! She has some issues staying sitting up - she wobbles after a couple of minutes and topples over.

My daughter just turned 5 months old and she has been able to sit up for a couple weeks by herself.. She only does it for about a minute or 2.. But I have to put her in position on the floor with her hands to lean on.. Now shes trying to pull herself up into sitting position.
