Have you attempted a sleeping schedule yet?

I was just reading in a magazine that you should start putting your baby to sleep at a certain time every night, I didn't know that at three months they really understood a bed time. My daughter goes to bed between 9:30 and 10:30 every night and wakes between 5:30 and 7. SHould I just leave it the same or attempt a sleep schedule earlier in the night?

how did everyone get on their sleeping schedules?? my baby was sleeping 7-9 hours straight at 8 weeks but now since 12-13 weeks (she is 16 weeks now) she is waking up at all hours..sometimes not even to eat. I am geting a bit frustrated at the change. any ideas how to get her to start sleeping through the night again?

I would leave her schedule alone. It sounds like she's sleeping really well! My daughter is on a similar schedule. She'll sleep most of the late afternoon and evening away. She wakes up around 9 to nurse and goes back to bed by 10. She usually sleeps until 5:30 or 6:00 when we finally get up for the day.

I started putting my son who is 3 1/2 months old now , to bed at 9:00pm at 3 weeks old. I have just kept it a routine and now he is ready for bed between 8 and 9 and has slept through the night for 2 months.

Oh I do have a pre-bed routine, too. I always give him a bottle in his nursery with the lamp on. He knows that means sleepy time! It's often hard to keep him awake to take the whole 3 oz. The rest of the time he is breastfeed, except when I'm at the gym.

I sort of put my son on a schedule but he dictates a lot of it himself. I like to put him down between 9:30-10:00pm if possible so I get longer sleeping time, since he usually sleeps until 3am. If he tries to go to sleep earlier I try and keep him stimulated to stave off sleep. That's as far as I control it though; whenever he wakes up in the middle of the night is up to him. Sometimes he only wakes up once, and other times he wakes up 2 hours after a feeding. I'm thinking by month 4 he will be more regular!

My daughter we got on a schedule around 8-9 weeks. She goes to bed around 930-10 and wakes up around 7-730, I love having her on a schedule. I know when she needs to be home and how long I have in the mornings before she is up.

My son started his own routine at three weeks, he goes to bed around 8:30 and wakes up around 7...I think it just depends on the baby, but it sounds like your little girl made her own sleep schedule also...If it works for you, I'd stay stick with it!

My daughter will sleep from 7.00 pm till 6.00 am, if I don't wake her up for her last feeding at 11.00 pm. I introduced this schedule when she was 6 weeks old by creating a routine, putting on a lullaby cd, her pj's, turning on the airconditioning and leaving on a night light. Lately she has been sleeping till 8.00 am.

With my son, we couldn't have even THOUGHT about it at this point. He had colic until he was almost 5 months old.
My daughter though, decides for herself when she wants to go to bed. She's been sleeping through the night for two months already, and as of two weeks ago, set her own bedtime at the exact time our son goes to bed.

We follow our daughter's cues. She has a pattern she's created and we just work around it. I like giving her some flexibility - and I feel it gives us some too.

My son goes down between 7:00 and 7:30 every night. I wake him up around 10:30 for a night cap and then he sleeps until right around 6:00 every morning. Our pediatrician recommended this with our daughter (who is now 2) and it worked wonders! Evan is doing great with it so far and our pediatrician again reminded us that it helps them be happier and sleep better during the day too!

Each child is different though and your daughter may not need as much sleep. I have to admit though it is nice to enjoy a little quite time in the evening with both kids in bed!
