Jake was born on the 20th, and is the happiest little guy! He "talks" and laughs (with a lot of effort put forth by us)!!! We just started giving 6oz/4rs. He weighs 13.4lbs. He sleeps through the night every so often. He's the greatest!!

Fletcher is 3mths and still wakes twice in the night for breast feeds, they are short & he goes straight back to sleep in his own cot in his room. I also go straight back to sleep no problem! He is teething and droolong and sucking his fingers all day I give him a dummy sometimes and a teething ring which I hold for him to knaw on. Fletcher has a few short naps in the day, sometimes longer but overall he is happy, content & very chatty & chuckley :)

My lil guy sucks his whole fist almost and drools like crazy right now.. we think he might be teething. this is my first and I am SOOOO tired... He sleeps through the night for the most part... He goes to bed around 5 and wakes up at 2 so that is 8 hours but they are odd hours and they are times I am not asleep... I can't sleep, does anyone else have that problem? not being able to sleep even though your baby is sleeping?

My boy is 15 weeks. He sucks his fingers and drools a lot. He likes to lay on his back, kick and wack any toy that hangs in front of him. He is grabbing and pulling the hanging toys. And if he's on his belly, will roll to his back. He laughs and smiles a lot, and whines when he's ready to eat or sleep. He gets 6 oz at 8pm, sleeps in his crib until 2 or 3am for a 5 oz. bottle, but we've had a couple 8 hr stretches. Then he sleeps again in his crib until 6-7, then in my bed with me until 8 and eats 5 oz at 8am, noon, 4pm; and we start all over again!

My chickadee is nearly 4 months old, she sucks her fingers, babbles, has said 2 words ( hello, and mum) , she can roll over from her back to her belly, she can sit by herself for only a short time ( less than a min), she tries to stand up and she sleeps 9 hrs a night most nights and has done since she was 1 month old.

My daughter is 3 months 1 week old. She is sucking her thumb all the time, sleeping through the night from usually 11pm until 8am, talking up a storm (babbling) and rolling from her back to her tummy then screaming for me to come turn her back over.

have you thought of using a dummy just so hes not sucking on his thumb/fingers. mind you i have given my son a dummy and he still loves to suck his thumb. so i guess it depends on the child. my 3 1/2 month old has been rolling onto his belly since he was 2 months. even we were quiet shocked at this. he loves the feeling like hes going to be dropped (hold him out laying on your arms and quickly lower your arms a little) he gives giggles every time :D

My daughter started sleeping through the night when she was around 2 months old. Her bouncer chair came with a removable vibrating/singing box that I take out & place in her crib. If she stirs at night, I turn it on the vibrating setting and she stops stirring. I'm also glad to know other babies are sucking on their hands! They are her new best friend it seems like. She use to suck on them when she was hungry, now it is all the time. She tries to suck her thumb & bottle at the same time, too. It's kinda funny to watch :) She loves tummy time, is holding her head up really high, scoots on the ground, rolls over from back to tummy and talks constinatly! She loves to smile and laugh, too.

My baby is 16 weeks old and it feels like she sucks her fist or fingers all day long! She's just started rolling onto her side, but not all the way over yet and somehow she has started turning 90 - 180 degrees in her cot during the night and gets herself completely unwrapped. She's been sleeping through the night for a few weeks now (about 6pm - 6am) and has about 3 or 4 naps during the day. She's smiling a lot and just started laughing. It feels like some days I wake up and all of a sudden she's doing so many new things!!

Mine is sucking on his hands and fingers as well, but I think mostly he is using them as a teething toy because if I give him a cloth he chews on that instead cause he cant quite grasp any of the teething toys I have yet. He is doing tons of kicking and talking as well. I dont know why but my son has been sleeping through the night for a few weeks now. But this last week we have had a couple nights where he is up at 5am and then all I do is change him and give him a bottle then he is out again till about 8am. I try and feed him as close to bed time as possible because I have figured out that the fuller their bellies when he falls asleep the longer he sleeps (usually). I have always had my son sleep in his crib since day 1. If he had a tummy ache or was having a rough night I would have him sleep on me but we havent had that happen since he got taken out of his cradle and put into his crib. Like Janet said below... Just try to get into a routine... it takes some time but once it happens its awesome... Masen naps about 4 times a day for about 30 min then he goes to bed anywhere from 9pm to 10pm and usually sleeps till about 8am. Wishing you the best of luck & hope you are enjoying your little one too!

My lil girl just turned 3 months on the 26th, and I started putting her in her crib lastnight. She slept from 945pm-447am, then I brought her into bed with me to nurse and caught a few more zzz's before I had to get the other two up for school at 7am. My breasts were quite full and ready to feed. I'm excited because that is her first time in her crib and it was successful. I know our journey has just started with sleep training, but I am very optimistic and calm about the whole thing. Calm mother=calm baby, it really is true. Good luck.

Oh and she's got a tooth coming in, she always has her hands and fingers in her mouth, and drools all over the place. She'll be in a deep sleep at nap time and wake up crying in agony, I know her gums are sore, but there's not much I can do for her but reassure her.

My little man chews on his fist, sometimes he gets his thumb. He has been sleeping through the night for 2 months now. He pushes himself up with his arms and can hold himself up for a while. He also gets his legs up under him. Just can't get both ends up at the same time yet. He smiles and talks all day. But no giggles yet.

I have a 4 yr old and a 3 and a half month bbay.. He has slept through the night maybe 2 times so far.. I find if he gets real restless and I put him on my chest he'll sleep past a feeding.. otherwise he usualy gets up every 4 hours! but I got my 4 yr old in that filthy habit of sleeping with me and im still struggling to keep him in his room..so really I dont suggest constantly having your baby sleep there. not only that but I hear so many horror stories of a mother rolling on her baby or the baby rolls off.. If you want them to sleep longer it is good to give them one last late night feed like 10 pm or soo... then if they get up after rock them in the bassinet or snuggle them up tight in a blanket..

Our son just turned 3 months today! He has been sucking his hands and wrists and drooling alot. He babbles, laughs and smiles all day long. He has really good head control and he LOVES music, water and the tv. He hasn't been sleeping through the night yet. He usually goes to bed around 11pm and is up by 3am and then 5 or 6am. He is breastfed and I don't expect he will sleep through the night until we start him on solids. He hasn't started rolling over yet and he also hates tummy time but loves to sleep on his tummy which I only let him do while I am up. One other thing is that he watches me constantly, he has been doing it for a few weeks now and even when other people hold him he has to be looking at me.

My baby boy also sleeps through the night from the time we put him in his crib in his own room. We were waking him up when we moved and our bed cracked or when we came to bed. Now he sleeps like a rose from 23.00h untill 9.15 in the morning. Not bad he.
He also sucks his fingers and hand an makes noises. He likes babymassage and bathtime and showering with dad.
He is wanting to stand a lot know and even jumping up and down on my lap.

greetings Nathalie

We're still co-sleeping too - LOVE IT! She doesn't sleep through the night (don't expect her to for a long time, though), but is sleeping in longer bursts. We breastfeed, so it's easy to have her right next to me. Plus, I get the cuddles I won't get when she's older. Already I can feel how much bigger she is! Her favorite things are her 2 fingers on her right hand that she sucks.

mine hates tummy time too. what i do is lay down and put her on my legs so that she is looking over my knees at me. she likes that, and sometimes i can transition her to my chest without her crying. she's doing better, but still doesn't really like being on her stomach any other way.

My daughter will be 3 months on Sunday and sleeps through the night in her bassinette next to our bed. When she was very little we started a night time routine...bath around 8-830p, baba/mommy&daddy time around 830-9pm and in bed by 9-930p whether she's awake or asleep in which she fell asleep eventually and actually started wanting to be in bed right after her baba and not being held. She's doing alot of kicking, smiling, squeeling, her arms go every which way except her mouth but she has started bringing them together. No laughing yet or rolling over really. She can roll to one side but mainly whenever she feels like it haha. Was everyone's baby born on time? My baby was born 3 weeks earlier than her due date so im wondering if she'll just start catching on to hands in mouth and rolling and whatnot at a later age. Also she hates having tummy time...cries the whole time, any suggestions?

It's so funny how we all have the same concerns. My baby girl will be 3 months on the 29th. she is drooling like crazy and I also thought she might be teething but I read that they don't usually until 5 months, so I guess 2-3 month olds just like to drool! She tries to eat her fists, too. She loves to stand and sit and makes herself soooo stiff sometimes I can't hold her! It can be pretty frustrating trying to cradle her and she's arching away and stiff as a board. She is spoiled and loves to be held! she likes to be read to and watches tv and loves to talk and squeal and smile. and of course kicks like crazy! She still hasn't really laughed yet, though. She's been sleeping pretty well, in her crib, 4 to 5 hours at a time at night, usually 2 long stretches of sleep is what I get.

Hello!!! Great to hear what other bubs are up to!!! I love how some babies can do things and others can't but they do different things!!!My little girl is 3 1/2 months old. She rolls back to front and visa versa and has been since she was 2 months old!!! She sucks her hands, grabs her feet, she just loves her toes!!!! Wakes 2 times a night we've started wrapping her again and it makes a massive difference as she was waking a lot before than!!! She never sits still she kicks a lot. We are at the moment debating the whole when to start solids as she is intolerant to milk and i have to watch what i eat as it upsets her!!! We've finally managed to go longer than an hour during the day with feeds, a major achievement!!! Hope everyones babies are well. xoxo

Hi Crystal

My little boy is also babbing away, and has just started rolling over (both front to back, and back to front). He is the happiest little baby i have ever known, he just smiles all day long, its beautiful!!

He has slept through the night once (two nights ago), and then last night he went 9pm-3am, quick feed, then back to sleep til 7.30am! He has always slept with me at night and woken up lots, but the first time he slept on his own, he slept through!!!

I think concentrating on getting him to sleep in the daytime helped us, I started putting him to bed (still awake with his dummy, and with his mobile going, and tucked in really tight) after he had been up for about 2 hours and he would put himself to sleep and stay there for about 1 1/2 hours! I did this about 4 times the first day (the last sleep at 5ish was only short though, about 1/2 hour), and he slept through that night! So maybe try getting him to sleep in the day and that might help!

My 15 week old is also sucking his hands like mad! Its driving me crazy, not because I mind that he does, but I swear he drools twice as much when he would if he were to still take a pacifier(which he won't), and his hands are always ice cold! Camden is a talker and mimics me like crazy! Hes smiley and happy which makes things easier on me! He made up his own sleep/nap schedule and is very particular about it, he naps at 11am, 3pm, and 5pm, and goes down for bed around 8:30pm, and sleeps until 7...Hes been sleeping through the night since 3 weeks, and has always slept in his crib in the nursery. He loves to stand(with my help), or sit in his Bumbo chair, but refuses to be in his swing or bouncy chair, so I ordered him a walker/jumper combo online, it isn't here yet though. He also recently decided he hate hate hates his carseat. I have a Graco travel system, and hes nearly 20 pounds and outgrown it, so I'm going to invest in a convertible carseat, hopefully him sitting more upright will help! Hes been eating rice cereal in his milk for three weeks, and I've also started him on some solids. Even though its early my doctor told me as long as hes showing interest in food, not pushing it out of his mouth with his tongue, and its not causing him any discomfort that its fine. Hes loving fruit, but not veggies, so we'll see!

Crystal- are your breast feeding? I have an almost 3 month old son and he sounds a lot like your little guy. I am breast feeding him at least 2 times during the night (not even close to sleeping through the night). I have tried several times for naps and bed times to get him to sleep in his pack-n-play or crib but he doesn't even make it 15 minutes without waking up screaming, so needless to say he sleeps with me. He hates sleeping on his back but of course loves his tummy. I am way to terrified to let him sleep that way because of SIDS though. Not sure what to do to get him to sleep by himself. Can't bring myself to let him cry it out...He has become very active the last 2 weeks or so. He loves kicking and swinging his arms. He talks and smiles a lot as well.

That is exactly my son right there. He sucks his thumb, although I don't really mind. They say most babies grow out of it by about 2-3. He also sleeps in bed with me. I usually start him out in his bed, but it's short lived. And he has yet to sleep through the night as well, although that's not necessarily a bad thing. It shows that he is alert enought to wake himself up if he is in danger!

Mine sucks her fingers sometimes when she's hungry. She is doing lots of kicking too, but doesn't make too much noise. Mine has been sleeping through the night for awhile now. I would have to advise you to make the transition to the crib if you want to start sleeping through the night. I had mine in a bassinet at first so it was easier to have her in my room but in her first month and a bit I had her in bed sometimes. Then just before Christmas I put her in her own crib to sleep. And now she has naps (4 usually) and goes to bed around 10pm and gets up around 6am. You might want to start putting him in the crib once he falls asleep, and don't give up if he wakes up right away at first. And when he's slept for awhile and wakes up turn on a mobile and see if he'll entertain himself in there for awhile. And when you get him to sleep and put him in the crib for the night don't pick him up at the slightest sound. See if he'll comfort himself back to sleep. I don't know if this is your first child or not but trust me a little bit of crying never hurt a baby. Good luck and just follow your instincts.
