I've had 2 periods since Fletcher was born. The first came about 6weeks after having him the second a month later, both pretty light and lasted about 4-5 days and I'm still breast feeding!

I had a cesarean, and still have not had a real period, just a day of spotting here and there since I stopped bleeding from delivery, I was worried about being preggers again, but tests keep saying no.

i have the after birth period for 5 weeks and then didnt get my period until about 9 and a half weeks after that... it was crazy heavy for the first 3 or 4 days and slowed down but only lasted a week which is not normal for me at all.. i usually have weekend periods thursday night to monday morning very light so it was crazy how bad my cramps were.. never had them before.. i breastfeed for the first 6 weeks and was on the mini pill thats ok when you breastfeeding for about 5 weeks... now im on the patch

Mine was the regular week long, but I was on the mini-pill, so that might have affected my cycle. It didn't come back until 11 months after my son was born! I'm hoping it will stay away longer this time around....

I had implanon put in at 6weeks, and a couple of weeks later I got a light period that lasted for three weeks. When I normally have light-med period that is 5-7 days (previously on implanon for 7.5 years).

Haven't had another one since, which is normal for me to have bigger gaps than 4 weeks, often 8 weeks.

Everyone's response is different.
It seems a large range of experiences occurs.
Some are lucky to return to their normal.
Ask your family health nurse or family doctor if you are worried.

Mine was heavy for about 2 weeks, about 5 weeks after delivery & I had a section too so I dont know if that makes it worse.
