how much is to much for a 2month old to drink?

i feed my son 4 oz of similac formula sensitive and burp around 2 per a feeding, but even after were done eating he still is fussy so i do everything i can think of what the probelm could be and he still is fussy so ill feed him another 2oz and hell be fine for around an hour or so. from what ive read that formual fed babys dont need to eat as often as 2 to 3 hours as breastfed babys, going to talk to his dr on our next appoitment but was wondering if anyone else has/going through this problem, scared im feeding him to much but he is gaining weight alright and has normal BMs so im guessing hes jsut a extra hungry baby, also wondering if maybe he isnt getitng enough of something form this formula and going to ask the dr about switching formulas, if anyone has advice would love to hear it... thank you and god bless everyone and there little ones

Have you tried giving him gerber cereal for baby rice single grain ? my son is 2 months and 2 weeks now and he eats all the time. I give him atleast one bottle a day that has a little bit of cereal mixed in with his formula and that keeps him happy longer it maybe something you would like to try

Hi, my daughter, Addison, is 2 months and she drinks 3 ozs every two hours consistantly. We feed her at 9:30 pm and she doesn't wake up until about 6:30 am for a feeding and then she goes right back to sleep until 9:30 am. She is a great weight and she was a big baby when she was born, she weighed 8 lb. 13 ozs. If I give her any more formula, Enfamil Lipil, she spits up a lot. So I feed her less more frequently and it works great!! Hope that helped!

hi my daughter is 9 weeks old and is having 6 oz every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. and my health visiter said that fine as she is gaining fine, not over weight ..my 3rd child was drinking 9 oz every 4 hours at 9 weeks so i think it depends on the child .

my son 2mths and his eating 5 to 6oz every 3 1/2 to 4 hrs and weights 11lbs 5 oz. his on simalac alimentum

My son was born Oct 25, and weighs about 12 lbs and is eating 5-5.5oz every 2 hours during the day, and sleeps about 8 hours at night. He is also eating the simalac sensitive.

i would talk to your pediatrician. my baby is 2 mos. and was eating 5 oz. at every feeding (every 3 hours or so). at our last visit, my dr. warned me that she was on the boder of being an obese baby... she put us on a diet of 4 oz. with 1 tsp. of rice cereal mixed in. formula does make babies gain more weight faster. so if at all possible, mix breastmilk with the formula.

my lill girl is 7wks on tues but she prem baby and weighs about 7llb she is drinking 3oz of aptmil but still seems hungery as she crys n makes a fuss an hour before her due time iv been feedin her 3hourly but sometimes she wants it hour before n will take all 3oz im also feeding her 3hourly at nite feeds aswell should she be sleeping thru the nite yet....

I have two boys and the oldest ate 8 ounces at 2-3 months old and buy time he was 4-5 months old he was drinking 18 ounces at a time so I had mixed pablum into his bottles and my youngest was born this October, he is only 1 1/2 old and he drinks 6-8 ounces at a time and thats every 2-4 hours, so as long as your child is regular and has good weight gain then you should be ok and just remember that when you read or someone tells you how much your child should drink or do there just going on an average, every baby is diffrent. my son is 7 weeks old and for the last week or so he has been drinking 6oz bottles of cow&gate hungrier baby formula every 2.5 hours - my health visitor tried to say this was too much but shes not the one who haas to put up with a screaming baby who is hungry his weight gain and everything else is fine and he now has a bottle at 8:30 pm and sleeps through, although i do give him a 'dream feed' at around 11:30

if you dont know a dream feed is where you give the baby a feed while they are semi asleep,

Is he a big boy? Becuase bigger babies will require more feeds. Maybe you can try and feed him smaller amounts more frequently. My son is 2 months, and 14.5 lbs. He eats 4 to 5 oz every 1.5 to 2 hours. He'll burp at least twice per feed, but does have reflux so he spits up some. He urinates normally and only has one normal bowel movement a day. He does seem fine, but some formulas need to be thickened up. I believe Nestles makes a formula that thickens up and makes baby less hungry....I'm actually putting 1 teaspoon of pablum in his milk, 3 times a day. This has helped.
