How often does your October 09 baby wear shoes?

My daughter was born on October 23rd, so during the winter months when she was a newborn, she wore warm socks and shoes very rarely. Then during the spring time when she was crawling, I didn't really see a need for them...and her little pigs are so cute! Now that fall and colder weather are fast approaching, I know she needs to start wearing them regularly. She just began walking a few weeks ago, and so far shoes really make her mad. Plus she is very small and her feet are ridiculously tiny so it's been difficult finding shoes that fit her.

So how often does your little one wear shoes? Daily? Rarely?
Where do you buy his/her shoes and what size does he/she wear?

I put socks and shoes on my little guy whenever we are going to go outside for him to play chasing the ducks or if we are going somewhere...... he hated them at first also because I too left his piggies bare because I have been in love with his feet ever since I saw them on ultrasound lol.... even would regularly take pics of his feet all criss crossed in sleep....... soon he started to realize that shoes on meant something FUN was coming up and I will sit him on the couch and he will hold up his feet for his foot gear so he can go have the fun too..... another side note--- it is still easier in the earlier stages of walking to have the bare feet so that they get a better feel of the floor and how to catch themselves

My son wears shoes everyday. He is walking when he feels like it sometimes he takes them off but mostly he has gotten used to them. I bought his shoes at walmart. They have shoes that have a clear part on the bottom so you can see how the shoes fit. He wears a size 3.

I tried every type shoe available before my daughter was walking and they all came off after a few seconds. Shes got clarks shoes in a 4 which she wears when we are out, but goes barefoot at home, iv tried slippers but they come off too. She only keeps her clarks shoes on cos they buckle.

2 brands- See Kai Run and PediPed are the closest thing to bare feet. They have great flexible soles and they make it so the child can feel the ground under their feet, thus making learning to walk that much easier. It's worth the extra $.

My son has a million pairs of shoes and usually outgrows them before he can wear them all! He's in a size 4. He wears them whenever we go out so he can walk if he wants to. Though he's been walking since 9 months, he walks much better without shoes or in crib shoes. I highly suggest to start with crib shoes if your child can't walk in regular shoes... it's much easier.

My daughter was born on october 5th,she also does not like wearing shoes. When were in the car she rips them off. However she was given a pair of shoes for her birthday that make a squeeky noise with every step, she loves them and needless to say she keeps them on. If nothing else she will get used to wearing shoes.

My son will be 1 on the 17th and he's not walking unassisted yet. Like your daughter, his feet are tiny (not even a 3) so I can't find walking shoes anywhere. My doctor thinks they should wear soft-soled shoes until they are consistent walkers anyway, though, so I keep him in Robeez. I love those things, they do not come off! In the house he is barefoot.

My son was born October 11th. I put shoes on my son when ever we go somewhere. He started walking at the end of june (8 1/2 months). during the summer if we were just going outside to play i'd let him go barefoot. But now I put sneakers on him because its getting cooler outside. I had a lot of hand me downs so i when i did buy him some sneakers I got them a walmart. I also got him some sandles. He wore a size 4 for most of the summer. Now he is in a size 5, he has feet like his mama, long and wide. I didn't have to go and buy 5's though my sil gave me a whole bag of shoes for him. My sil gets her boys shoes at garage sales. They out grow them so fast and they are pretty expensive to have to buy all of the time.

I meant to say also i put it on him only half the time when he needs to stand not all the time, and if we go out, they really are just decorative shoes you can get too but as your daughter walks i'd say just nice flexible and large enough shoes for her comfort. Best of luck!

Hi Leah, My two year old was born in May and in the winter months when he started walking i got his shoes in Ecco and or Clarks (Ireland) they soft shoes with rubber sole very practical. Same goes for my 11 months old who isn't walking yet but crawling, when he stands i think shoes will help him steady on those cute little feet that don't stand straight yet in my opinion.

Maddie was born Oct. 6 and we didn't have her in shoes until a few weeks ago when she started walking. She only wears them when we go out because she likes to get down and walk outside and in stores and I don't want her doing that barefoot or in just socks (to slippery). She has a pair of shoes from Fisher Price that fit her feet just right and she is in size 3. But she is barely 18.5lbs so she is tiny.

My little girl was born Oct 22 and she wore shoes the week after she was born. She doesnt wear them so much in the house but anytime we leave the house she was always had shoes on for the simple reason of i wanted her to be use to wearing so that when she really had to she wouldn't fight me. Now that she's starting to walk i got her tennis shoes for a company called Stride Rite they specialize in infant and childrens shoes and they have special shoes for those learning to walk and they have a great selection. Right now she wears a 4wide. Hope this helps.

My son was born on October 11, 2009, so they are the same age. I try and keep shoes on his feet while he is trying to start walking. I was told that it is very important because it will help them walk and also help shape their feet. If you do not keep shoes on your baby’s feet they will never get use to having them on. The shoes he wears everyday are the Stride Rite walking shoes.

Never. She hates wearing shoes and socks, and shoes always make her trip. I'd rather her be able to walk safely.

my little girl is walking as of 10 months she was born the 21st of october ... she starting to walk in shoes although she doesnt like them either.. shes about 30 in long and weights about 18 lbs and wears size 3 or 4 depending on the type of shoe ... but when we go out she knows the shoes go on... ive heard you should keep them on alot when they first start walking so they dont have to relearn walking after and it help support there ankles better also

My daughter was born October 23rd. I only put shoes on her if we are going somewhere....and usually she ends up with them off. They say its best when they first start walking to leave them off. As long as she's not outside let her little piggies be free.

Victoria doesn't like shoes at all. She pulls at them and if she can't get them off she cries. I know she is going to have to get used to it but for now I don't bother

Mika hates shoes. She was born Oct 10th. She started walking at 10 months, so when we go out she has to wear them. The make it kind of hard for her to walk though. She always tries to take them off her feet.
She is in a size 4 shoe and I buy them from wal mart, old navy, gymboree, and bonnie togs.

When we are home she is always bare foot because our floors are slippery.

Hi, I have twin girls, Cassidy is walking and Isobel is trying. We only wear shoes when we go out, I have just made it a point of when we get ready to go out anywhere, sweaters/coats go on and shoes. Their shoes are a nice soft sole, so walking is possible. Another option is soled leather slippers. I have a pair for Cassidy, they are pretty durable, and they don't hinder the movement.

I have shoes from Babies R Us, Walmart, Bonnie Togs and Sears. Cassidy wears a size 2 and Isobel wears a 1 still.

Skylee dont like shoes either so we just double up her socks found some socks at walmart that are thick and have grip things on the bottom..but sky is still only crawling so when she starts walking not really sure on how that will work

We buy her shows from Wal-Mart and Pamida and she is in a size 4..but she weighs 21 1/2 pounds and 30 1/2 inches..so big feet is normal since she is pretty tall for her age
