Kara has slept through the night since a very young age and has been sleeping approx 13 hours every night, but when she has her immunizations for the next 2 weeks she wakes for a night feed at 4am every morning. I'm not sure why this is because she is still having the same bottles and solids as before she had them? Is this normal?

If you are noticing any changes in your child following immunizations, I would strongly encourage you to do some research, I mean, real research (not just reading the paper the doctors supply you about shots or asking them about pros/cons) into whether or not you want to vaccinate your child. I vaccinated my first, now 3, as recommended & didn't see any issue with that. Now with the one who's a little over 5 months, I noticed he was groggy following shots. I thought he just slept longer because he'd been so upset/cried so hard from the shots, but he slept most of the day following the shots, then slept like normal through the night, then slept at least 2x as much as usual on the following day & like normal through the second night. After that he straightened out to his normal self, but it was concerning as it happened after both times he was vaccinated. I found out that some of my friends & acquaintances who are moms I respect & are well educated do not vaccinate. This peaked my curiousity & I feel compelled to do some quality research on my own prior to getting any more vaccines for any of my kids. The way I see it is, there are two sides to this issue & I've already heard why we should vaccinate, it's time I took an honest look at why some people don't. I just ordered the book "Saying No to Vaccines" by Dr. Sherri Tenpenny because in my research so far, that appears to be a credible source of information on the subject. If you are worried, trust your motherly instinct--find out more info. The worst that happens, you read up on it, decide to continue on with vaccines, but at least you have that peace of mind.

This isn't at all judgemental. Do you try not to feed her and just let her settle back to sleep? If you can, just let her settle herself back to sleep. My daughter sleeps through and has from 8 weeks old. But at about 5am every day she wakes at about has a little talk and play in her cot and goes back to sleep! she's then up at about 7.30 for her morning feed :) they go through stages and if she is hungry, then feed her, but It makes life a lot easier when they can settle back to sleep and still be happy babies.

Could be a growth spurt. They do have a growth spurt around 6 months of age.
