My baby is almost 3 months old. and he eats about 6 ounces at a time. and not even an hour later hes hungry again! he constantaly eats and im not sure if thats healthly for him. what should i do? he wont eat more then 6 ounces at a time and sometimes doens't even eat the full 6 ounces should i start giving him rice cerial? any suggestions?

My girl who was born on Oct 15th, got like that at night really bad.. the docs told me to put a little ceral in the bottle which suprised me because normally it should be 4-6 months to start them on it.. but if hes eating too much like that, he might need some ceral

My daughters doctor actually told me not to put rice in her bottles, but to use a spoon... something about tongue coordination... but they can have rice n cereal at 3 months... and start baby food at 4 months.

my son is going to be 3 months on the 4th. he eats 6 ounces of formula.i also give him a little oatmel and that helps him for about 4 to 5 hours. he does great with it

I don't know anything about amounts of formula (I bf), BUT 3 months is a big growth spurt! :) So your little one may increase the amount he's eating during the growth spurt.
Solids aren't recommended until babies are at least 6 months, so I personally wouldn't recommend cereal.

Check with your Dr. First. There are concerns with starting rice cereal too early and food allergies as well as choking etc. If your dr gives you the ok, he/she will tell you how best to give it to him.

My daughter was only eating 4oz at a time and hungry every 2 sometimes 3 hour and wouldn't always finish the bottle. We started giving her a tablespoon of rice cereal at 8 weeks in one of her bottles and it helped a little. After a week we started another tbsp in another bottle and now she has started eating 5oz at a time and goes anwhere from 3-6 hours. It's getting better slowly but we might try somemore cereal soon. The doctor said to start off slowly because it can constipate them. Lily has been going to the bathroom fine so I might make her 2 bottles of cereal a little thicker soon to try to get her to sleep a little longer or maybe through the night!
