why do you want to? if everything is fine the way things are i wouldn't do it. i put a little in Isaac's bottle once when he was having trouble spitting up. I tried giving it to him to see if it would help him sleep through the night and honestly it made things worse. He just started sleeping through the night last week without any help from cereal or special formulas--And he still only eats 2-3 oz at a time.
His pediatrician said no solid food until 4 months.
Its up to you because your her mom, if you think shes ready there is nothing wrong with giving it a try!

I do! I started when she was about 5 weeks. I put about 4oz of water in a bottle & stick it in the microwave (just the water only!!) for about 12 sec. Then I put the formula in, mix it up and then I add some cereal. Kaelyn loves it & it keeps her full longer!

i just started doing that because her doctor said it was ok. i only do it at night before she goes to bed and that actually made her start sleeping through the night! you can't use a regular bottle though, most of the holes are to small, so i used a safety pin to widen one that i already had.

We started adding it at about 8 weeks. We mix it in with her last evening feeding and give through a bottole, with a bigger hole. She does fine taking it. She sleeps almost 4-5 solid hours after having it. Which is better than the 3 I was getting! :) However I think I need to let her cry it out a little. Plan on moving her to the nursery this week from the bassinet next to the bed. I'm having such a hard time with moving her. Have put it of a couple of times. I like her being so close, but I am going back to work Sunday. I am a nurse and work 12hr shifts so I gotta get more sleep!!

My daughter is 9 1/2 weeks old. She'll be 10 weeks old Christmas day. I breast fed her for the first 3 weeks then switched to formula. We had a hard time getting her to sleep at night so my fiance told me about adding cereal to her night time bottle. We've now been doing this for just over a month now and she still fights with us but now it's because she's fighting her sleep not because of beign hungry. She gets it at night and it helps her sleep through the night. She goes down between 11 and 1 and sleeps til between 8 and 9. She's gaining weight well now and she's very healthy. I see no problem adding cereal to your baby's bottle

My son has acid reflux and one of the easiest ways to manage it is to put rice in their bottles. I have been giving rice to my baby since he was a month old and it stops him from projectile vomiting. He gains wait a lot faster but as soon as the are mobile they will loose the wait. Had to do the same thing to my 7 year old and now he is thin as a can be. If you think putting rice in his bottle is best for him then do it. Just be careful because they will get pretty constipated. So try to give him a little water or juice to soothe his stomach about one a week.

my daughter was 3 weeks when the doctor told me to put rice in her bottles (but to this day cant get her to take a bottle) but with my older 2 kids they started with rice on their bottles around a month or so. And they are just fine, and not fat which is what some people say about giving them rice when they are young.

What I was told was that babies shouldn't get it before 4 months, and that 6 months was preferable. Was told so by my doctor... Not sure what others hear. Dr. Sears (baby expert) recommends waiting until the baby shows he/she is ready:

i started with putting rice cereal in my daughters bottle a week ago and shes 8 weeks old yesterday. i got advice from my gf not to put it in the bottle cause they can choke so i have put a tsp in a small bowl and mix a bit of formula in it so its runny and feed it by spoon and she loves it. Also has been sleeping alot better:) hope that helps!
