Seasonal Allergies and meds??

I'm pretty sure my 9 1/2 month old has seasonal allergies. Hubby and I both have allergies/sinus issues. And we're noticing a pattern of when we're stuffy and yucky, he gets stuffy and yucky. I also noticed the other day, on the weather, when the weed pollen count went up, he started up with the runny/stuffy nose and puffy/watery eyes. He gets so bad sometimes that he can't breathe through his nose at all. What do you think about allergy medicine for them at this age? One doctor prescribed Claritin by day and Benedryl by night. But his new pediatrician feels he's too young for Claritin. Has anyone else had this issue? Or used any allergy medicines? TIA!!!

My Daughter Skylee had bad allergies eyes swelled up nose constantly ran she was on Singular powder in the morning and Zertec at night she took daily for 4-5 months..took a week or 2 to start working but worked wonders for her..she is done taking them now...but very possible she will need again next yr
