My daughter was 5 months on the 19th and we started rice cereal a few days before then. I was eating my cereal one morning and she was just staring at me like she wanted some. So after I nursed her around lunch time I gave her some rice cereal and she just loves it. I haven't had any problems with her taking it. Not sure when to try something else, but I go see the doctor this week anyways. He said not to give solids until 6 months, but with everything I read, she just seemed really ready.

I have twin girls, 5 months on March 29. We started them on rice cereal a couple of weeks ago, then oatmeal.....either girl is fond of the cereal. Started mixing a little apple sauce with it and that seems to be better. Started carrots today at their lunch meal. They eat about 1-2 tsp at 3 meal times.

At 4 months I introduced to my twins rice cereal in the morning and they did really well with that so about 2 or 3 weeks later I started giving them vegetables in the evening around 3 or 4pm. I started them with Green beans and peas, and now they are eating also squash, sweet potatoes and carrots.. They also eat fruits with their cereal and in the evening.. just the first foods stuff.

my daughter was 5 months on the 14th, and she tried cereal for the first time about a week before her 4 month birthday - she didnt care for it too much. a week later she had carrots, and loved them, the next week she had apples, and loved them! shes also had sweet potatos, bananas and prunes. she likes the cereal now, too, as long as its mixed with apples or bananas.

We've just started rice cereal as a lunch meal before his bottle. We'll soon be moving onto apples and pears. He has an intolerance to an unknown food/allergen so everything we'll be introducing him to will be done individually and very slowly.
