What is everyones 16 month old doing?

My daughter Kaela was born on 10-30-09. She's speaking a lot clearer now and saying more words. She understands what we are saying to her,points to what she wants or pull us by the hand and takes us to it, she is using the potty, she loves to sing, she holds up books and tries to read, and she likes to write and color. Kaela loves to dance and torture her older sister. She loves to eat fruit and vegetables but she is not a big fan of meat. Last month she weighed 22lbs. She is always happy and wakes up every morning talking and smiling.

My little one was born Oct. 1 so she is a little over 17 months....
She uses the potty and is in panties all the time at home (pull-up to sleep and go shopping)
She talks all the time....she says at least 40 words that are recognizable.
Her newest word is please!
She has mastered climbing!
She can use a spoon but really prefers her hands!
Her favorite foods are noodles, cheese, and chocolate...will not hardly eat anything else.
She has 16 teeth and 4 more coming in
She is about 27lbs. and 33in. tall
She loves being outside
She loves to help....the laundry, dusting, mopping, making the bed, etc.
Follows 2 step directions!
Loves her bath time!
She is just awesome and is growing and learning so much everyday. It's amazing how much she can do and understand now!

My twins were born 10/29/09 - 7 weeks early.
They are drinking out of straws.
Walking, Running and Dancing.
They both have a mouth full of teeth, but haven't counted.
They eat with their hands, no spoons or forks yet.
They love brushing their teeth.
They climb up their crib...so we are changing tomorrow to toddler beds.
They wave goodbye and blow kisses.
They only have about 20 words in their vocabulary.
They nod their heads yes and no.
They have a play set outside that they play on by themselves.

He eats with his fork and spoon, has 11 teeth and weighs 12 kilos. he climbs everything he possibly can and is getting to the stage that he is saying sentences and we can actually understand lol he knows how to put stuff in the bin and get his wipes nappies and other belongings. he has had two hair cuts so far and knows what arms and legs to put in the holes when getting changed and knows what his ears eyes mouth nose belly button and rude part is. he knows the different colours. he is ball crazy and is already a little soccer playing dribbling the ball everywhere. we havent introduced potty yet but will be soon.

Hey all my baby boy (born 10/14/09) has 16 teeth weighs around 30 pounds he runs jumps climbs on everything including me he has vocabulary of over 50 words and is taking in semi sentences he helps clean up an follows directions very well uses the potty when he's not running from it he is doing awesome n growing way too fast for me and boy does he have a big personality

Ethan was born 12th October, he:

~Has 10 teeth and two more coming through
~Can say 25+ words regularly and another 10+ sporadically. As well as using the words he also signs milk, hot, gone, duck and bird.
~ He understands most of what we ask him to do and follows instructions really well (when he's not being a monkey)
~ Has had about 6 haircuts, his hair grows incredibly quickly just like his daddies.
~ Walks, runs, jumps, kicks (not people just in songs), stamps (again only in songs), climbs, hides, sings and dances - he is one groovy mover lol.
~ Waves hello and goodbye (and says bye) and blows kisses when we tell him we love him or when it is bedtime.
~ Eats anything we give him and is brill at using a fork and spoon. He can drink from a glass and use a straw (he prefers drinking straight from a glass).
~ Helps with my chores (dishwasher, hoover, sweeping, polishing, if he makes a mess on the floor or wees on the floor he wipes it up - I don't make him he wants to do it)
~ Knows some animals and their sounds, some body parts, some colours and some shapes.
~ He kisses my belly to say good morning to baby (I am 24 weeks pregnant) and strokes my belly to show being gentle :-)

~ He is using a potty yet, he isn't ready, he has just started to show a little recognition for the need to wee but still goes without being able to tell me he needs to. We're going to hold off until after the baby is born now I think.
~ I'm not sure about his weight/ height as he hasn't been measured since his 1st birthday, I'm not due to take him in until he's 18 months old. Alhough he is still wearing 9-12 month clothes so I think he is on the small side (but then he was small when he was born as well).

Elisha was born 20 October - 13 weeks early - weighed just 870gms - 1lb 15 oz - she has 5 teeth only, walks with assitance, loves playing with her older sisters. She now weighs 19lbs and is a dlightful little girl. She does things to her corrected age of 13 months!

What a great question... what mom doesn't love to brag about there kid(s) and this lets us go for it LOL!

Caeden just turned 17 months yesterday...

Walks and runs (heart in throat!!)
LOVES dancing.. has impromptu dance breaks anytime anywhere!
Says mom dad cat dog and can sign quite a few words but mostly still his own wonderful mysterious language
Eats everything and anything we give him to try - loves french cut green beans, pickles, beets, crackers and roast beef sandwhiches
He loves stacking and organizing EVERYTHING
Hands us every spick and speck on the floor
Loves music videos
Loves all the different sounds everything makes
Climbs stairs
LOVES to laugh and cuddle and give great big wide open mouth kisses!
He's got all but his eye teeth and weighs 32
He loves making us laugh and will repeat whatever we think is funny over and over and over...

My son was born on Oct. 26th.



He has 10 teeth

Only says "mama", but does a TON of babbling.

Understands everything we say.

Crawling still, but pulling up & cruising everything.

Sometimes tries to eat with a spoon.

No haircuts. He has super curly hair and I love it.

Can find his ears, hair, nose, teeth, tongue, belly button, hands, and feet.

Can drink from a straw.

Can find his ball.

LOVES to play catch & throw around anything he can find.

Weighed 23.7lbs at 15 months, and was 34in.

Kaylee turned 16 months on February 19th.



She has 12 teeth (eye teeth are just under the surface)

We have started potty training and she's actually gone in it once so far---very exciting, but mostly she likes to close the lid and stand on it!

24 inches and 33 pounds

Running, jumping, climbing on whatever she can reach

Uses a fork and spoon most of the time

Follows simple directions very well (pick up your toys, don't touch that, find your shoes...etc)

Says "mommy, daddy, hot/cold, hi/bye, up/down, dog/arf, cat, please (comes out pease), no/yes, Buddy (our dog), eye, ear.

In sign language, she says "eat, drink, more and all done"

Knows most of her body parts very well

No haircuts, hair is coming in slowly

Loves to work puzzles

Identifies certain animals in matching game

Brushes her teeth (sorta)

Loves to take showers

Loves to dance

Waves hi, bye and blows kisses

Brushes her hair, what little she has

Drinks with a straw without chewing it to death

Compares herself to others (for instance, she'll play with my hair then put her hands on her head and show me hers isn't the same or puts our feet next to each other and looks at the size difference)

I AM SO JEALOUS!!!!
my son turned 16 mths on the 26 th. i am in another country at the moment finishing my degree so i am MISSIN out on everything and it hurts badly. i am in class with a mostly a bunch of 19 year olds and i feel like i stick out like a sore thumb. but really, ultimately i am here to do what i have to do to secure a better future for my son. i am suckin it in. but i call every sunday to try and talk to him ( altho he jus listens into the fone and talks when the receiver is taken away from him). have to remind my mom not to spoil him too much and encourage him to start eating with his utensils and get him off the bottle.

but when i left he had:
8 teeth and was growin two on top and two on the bottom
he was runnin,
LOVES to dance and sing
loves playin with water and mud
he takes out and puts back pots and things into the cupboards
he could long from 14 months say mama,papa uncle and bye bye
but the worst is that up to now he refuses the pot and just gets into tantrums and hysterics when he is tried to put on the pot
he is on his second hair cut
and he was weighing around 14.5 kg when i left but my mom says he has gained even more

imogen was born on the 25th.....
she can say:
mum, mummy, dad, nanan, pop, bob, stewie (birds name), ninja (cats name), cat, dog, water, paper, toilet, mine, his, theirs, hot, no, yes, thankyou (said thankyup), banana, apple, whats that?, i didn't do it, thats mine, don't touch it, where?, gone, there it is, ball, baby, nose, belly button, hair, ears and gabba (cant think of the rest lol), she can CLIMB very well has done since she was 10 months old, she can run, dance and sing to anything. she loves going in the car...starting to introduce the potty...so for so good too :) she has 16 teeth 8 on the top, 8 on the bottom. generally she is a happy healthy 16 month old, and we love her to bits :D ♥

My son will be 17 months on Mar. 4th. He is just about 20lbs. and has 6 teeth that he's had since 8mons. He's finally starting to enjoy eating "real" food, but still loves to nurse. He can walk, run, climb up the ladder at the playground. He says mama, dada, his sister's name, potty, papa, nana, gigi, cracker, avocado "caca", more, choo choo, oh I can't think of them all, but it's a lot! He uses the potty and is in underwear about 60% of the time, but still has quite a few accidents. Some days are really good and some days not so good. He's obsessed with trains. :-)

Runs, Climbs everything, opens doors, loves to dance, uses fork and spoon but prefers fingers, plays peek a boo.
He has interest in potty, but thinks his is a toy...so i have not started training him yet.
He says mommy, daddy, kitty, hi, bye bye, no no, sit down, yes, buggy (his nickname) mimi (his grandma) and there is more i know i am forgetting.
At 15 mth check up he was 27lbs and 32 in. long.

has 13 or 14 teeth (IDK she never lets me check)
Is NOT going potty.. i didnt want to do it too young...
Says at least 20-30 words...
Has never had a haircut because I like putting it in pigtails
Weighs 25 pounds ( I thought she was huge, glad to see she isn't)
Climbs only certain things...
Eats with her hands, doesn't care for a fork or spoon
Helps load the dishwasher, sweep, do laundry, and vacuum
Does not say thank you... Even though I say it all the itme. LoL
Picks up small objects off of the floor and gives them to me

My son Brandon, born Oct 3rd:



Has all of his teeth (except two molars I can see coming in the back)

Plays with our dog (throws toys, she plays fetch and he laughhsss)

Has had two haircuts

Says: Mommom, dada, dog, bad dog (haha), kitty, bad kitty, cookie, I want that, blue, red, (when pointing to colors), this (pointing to things he doesn't know), hi, thanks, more, clock, now... .I can't remember the rest lol.

Climbs on everything he can get his hands on, and LOVES crawling up and down stairs which gives me a heart attack lol.

I ask him to give me the remote, toy, my phone, or dog bone and he picks it up and gives it to me..

If I ask him to pick up his toys he runs around and picks up the toys and throws them in the toy box (best thing ever! LOL!)

Haven't introduced potty yet, I don't think he's quite ready.

Points to eye (and says eye), his belly button, nose, mouth, and winkie (lol in the bath tub of course).

He's usually the best baby I could ask for, but when he's tired or if I say No, he throws temper tantrums.



He only weighs 20lbs soon, will eat anything and everything I give him. We still have to put him in 12 months pants because he's short lol (he's considered average but on the low end of the scale, he's just short because my husband and I are 5'4 and 5'6 lol!).



OH! And finally, he dances to everything. Any song playing, he wiggles his butt. It's the cutest thing ever. :)

hates the stroller and can walk for long distances (we walk to the grocery store which is about 10 mins away, she wont go in the stroller)
understands A LOT
can point to her head, hair, eyes, nose, cheeks, chin, neck, shoulders, hands, fingers, arms, elbow, knees, legs, feet and toes !
she knows how to get herself dresses, although not easily.
she says 45 words but understands A LOT more.

shes got a temper that I have never seen on anyone before. Usually though she is a sweetheart.
she is now 35 inches tall and 24 lbs.
She has a funny obsession with winnie the pooh.

My daughter is just turning 16 months. Last weigh in 18.14lbs but I think she is 20lb now (quite small). No haircuts I'm desperatlyw aiting for her hair to grow, it is getting there but very slowly! 12 teeth which she has had since before she was 1.



She has very good language understanding and will pretty much do anything we ask her to. She says quite alot of words (30+) but only when she feels like it Recently she has started leading me by the hand and pointing at what she wants but althoguh she can say the words to tell me what she wants she would rather just cry!



She knows, points to and can say most body parts (10 parts/phrases) and can do actions to a variety of songs and will try and sing them. She also likes stories and will say 'uh oh' in the correct place in the 'We're going on a Bear Hunt' story which I find hilarious every time! She also loves to dance.



Knows the potty but doesn't like to use it. Still doesnt like her nappy being changed. Active, runs/walks/climbs but no sense of danger! Beginning to use spoon but gets bored after a while and I daren't let her lose with a fork!. She likes to draw and will hold pen consistently in right hand.

My son Camden was born on the 5th.

He has 16 teeth and his two year molars are on their way.

He says 15+ words and phrases regularly, and has another 15 or so that he uses occasionally

He refuses to use his potty but lets me know when his diaper is wet/dirty. I'm not worried about it, we've got lots of time!

No haircuts yet, but he definitely needs one!

Overall he's super smart, and has a great understanding of how things work He's learned so much in the last couple of weeks that I'm blown away!.

Wow he is doing extremely well, my daughter was born on 22/10/09 has 9 teeth, most definately not going potty bearly wets her nappy ever. Says, mum, dad, bye, ta and alot of other stuff that only she can understand. She will knock on a closed door and point if she wants something, has not had a haircut yet but it is nice and curls at the back. She weighs 18.9lbs (8.6kgs) and cant climb to well at the moment (which i am fine with) and fully understands the word NO. She is a FTT baby and has been a little slow of the mark but is doing fine to me

my dughter is doing everything your son is doing, she was born on 28th oct. She has 9 teeth, has had no haircuts, i seem to have bald kids until they are 2, she has lots of hair its thick and short and she does not go potty, thinking about it though. SHe climbes everything!! gets up on our dining suite grr, uses a spoon and fork extremely well, says lots of words and understands alot! oh there is lots more i also have a 4 month old so.....im enjoying it all over again in a short amount of time although my lil boy is picking up on things quicker, most likely cos of his sister

No potty yet. waiting for a little more understanding.
at last appointment 20 pounds 12 oz, 20 inches. he is a very small baby but very healthy as the doc says.

Xander will be 16mths on the 28th (well 31st technically but there is no 31st this month hehe).

He's about 27lbs (just over 12kg)
2nd haircut on Monday
Runs everywhere and climbs everything imaginable.
LOVES to dance, to anything.
Eats with a spoon, but also lets me feed him still.
Says mum, daddy, more, ball, drink (dink), only when he wants to though.
Helps load the washing machine & hang out laundry.
12th tooth just cut through last night. Eye teeth are coming soon..red swollen gums at the moment.
Hands us any piece of dust/crumb/paper that's on the floor.
LOVES to play ball (we kick it to each other)
Haven't tried the potty yet.
Pokes my belly button & kisses my tummy when we ask him where his baby brother/sister is. (my fav thing!!!!)

Skyla will be 16months on the 29th

Keiara ... October 10th 2009 ... The little princess she is -

All teeth (minus her eye teeth and the 2 year molars - but those eye teeth are currently right under the gums just waiting on all 4 to cut through ... that'll be FUN)
She's been running me and my husband ragged since she was 10 months old and figured out that she had legs that worked just fine (that was fun when I was 8 months pregnant)
She can speak but chooses not to - or when she does it's her own language - Daddy and I work on having her use the right words but sometimes that just isn't in her plans for the day (though Tanks, Tahtoo and Eeeeeese for Thanks, thank you and please are so darned cute)
She's more than ready to potty train but points and laughs at the potty instead of going on it
Still working on the fork/spoon thing - she uses them when *she* wants to and gets most of what's in front of her in her mouth

At 16 month check up she was 23 lbs and 32 inches tall... so she's "Average" for her weight ... but standing next to her 3 year old cousin she's only like 3 inches shorter than him ...
