High fetal heart rate (over 180 bpm) at 12 weeks, should I worry ?

I will be 12 weeks tomorow. My baby's FHR is always over 180 bpm (goes up to 190 and even 200 at times) on my doppler. This would be normal at 9 weeks, but I feel this is too high for 12 weeks...from everything I've read, up to 180 bpm is ok, but higher than that is abnormal. Most web sites say it should be between 120-160 after 12 weeks...Anyone else's baby have a high FHR ? Is your doc. concermed? I have an appointment tomorow and will definitely bring this up...

I went to the doctor a week ago and I was 11 weeks, baby's heart rate was 185 and my doctor wasn't in the least bit worried.

i was told by my ultrasound tech when i was pregnant that anything between 120 and 200 was normal for 11-13 weeks. different times of day can also affect it (ie, just eating, baby being very active at the time or shortly before having the heart rate done). did your dr seem concerned? if not then there's no reason for you to be either. keep in mind when looking things up online that they are "averages" but each baby is different and the "averages" don't always include all of the "normals" for everyone. don't stress

My baby's heart rate is usually around 176bpm now...I feel better when it's under 180bpm. :) Kassie, how did your appointment go ?

I am almost 13wks, next apt is the 21st of this month. I'll let you know :) I am pretty sure that with my first 2 babies heart rate was pretty high in the early part. (funny how memory disappears.. ;) )

Edit August 2013. I thought I would give an update on this post. There was something wrong with my baby. Unfortunately, I told several doctors about my concerns during pregnancy and not one doctor took my concerns seriously. At 21 weeks, following an ultrasound, I was informed that my baby had Trisomy 13 and was going to die. He passed away the following week. This was a very hard time for me obviously. I did get pregnant 6 months after losing my baby boy, and I now have a healthy 4 month baby boy that I love to death.

Did you try counting it out yourself? maybe your doppler isn't registering properly.
