My son was born at 34 weeks gestation and was only 4 pounds (born Nov 15th, due Dec 26th). Everyone assured me he would catch up quickly, and he has. He is now 16 pounds and reaching all the benchmarks for 6 month olds. Just wondering if there are any other preemies out there and how they're doing!

My daughter was born at 33+3 on Nov 20th. I was due on 1/6 but developed severe pre-e. She was 4lb 13.8 oz and 18 inches as birth at is now about 21 lbs and 25 1/2 inches. She spent 8 days in NICU. She is perfectly healthy but does have a few motor delays that we are working on through physical therapy.

Yes, during my 8 or 9th week the placenta started to detach (I thought I was miscarrying) and then at 18 weeks I started leaking fluid and at 20 weeks when the pregnancy became viable they officially diagnosed me with oligohydramnios (low fluid) and at 27 weeks my water broke. My daughter was breech and I knew I was going to be having a c-section (my first after 2 normal, term, vaginal deliveries.) She started out ok, but within a few hours took a turn for the worse. Her lungs were in really bad shape from being squished in my belly with little to no fluid for so long. After 8 1/2 weeks in the NICU she got to come home. So thankful she's completely healthy.

My son was born at 32 weeks on November 23rd. He was due January 14th. He was 3lb 8oz. He spent 11 days in the NICU before going home. He had no issues at all, and was only kep in NICU until he was able to eat from a bottle for 24 hours. At about 2 months he was switched to a hypoallergenic formula because of his awful problems spitting up. He still spits up after almost every meal. He now eats baby food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. He weighs just under 16lbs. He can sit on his own and he gets on his knees and ricks back and forth. He rolled over for the first time at about 2 months old and didn’t do it again until close to 5 months. He is a talker and rambles on and on all day. I have a very happy boy who was in a rush to be here.

Did anyone else have problems with their pregnancy or know why their child was early? I had a Subchorionic Hematoma and bleed through my whole pregnancy and was diagnosed with preeclampsia 2 days before Benjamin was born. Iwas brought to the hospital about 2 hours after my baby shower and had an emergency c-section.

My son was born at 28 weeks gestation on November 3rd. He weighed 3# 1 ounce at birth and spent seven weeks in the NICU. At his 6 month check up he weighed 14.6#. He rolls front to back and back to front, sits unsupported, and gets up on his hands and knees and rocks. He has a therapist that works with him twice a month and she says that crawling will probably begin within the next week or so. He has eaten from a spoon since mid February.
He did have reflux issues early on, but they were mostly resolved when he came home. Our only issue once home was that he was on a heart/respiratory monitor until the end of February. Thankfully all is well and he is catching up to where he should be.

My daughter was born exactly at 36 weeks her weight was 5lbs 11ozs.Nov 11 so she over 6 and a half months and weights around 16lbs. Her biggest issue was with breastfeeding the first four weeks. I think she is doing ok she rolling over real good now and just this week started sitting up for more than a few seconds. It's incredible what difference one week can make!

Thats so awesome! My twins were due Dec 26th and born at 34 weeks too..Nov 14th!! That is the coolest thing ever!!! My twins are right on track. However, it does bother me when people say they are technically 5 months or technically going to have delays. Leave the preemies alone and let them grow and advance and be happy at that LOL...I love it! I think its cool that we had our babies at the same time! Did your son have to say at the NICU? We stayed for three weeks there and I loved their care team!

My child was 2 weeks earlier but we had problems with the umbilical cord so he didnt grow properly, he was 5lb 3oz, still a little on the small side, not even on the lines for his height but getting there, slow in development as well 7 months tomorrow and still cannot sit up for a long period of time "-(

Also my son had really bad problems with reflux and lactose intolerence, weve got him out of it though now on both, we used carobel milk thickner and a special medicine for his reflux

My son also had reflux--we had a lot of trouble the first 4 months, but the past couple have been great. He has been on Zantac since he was 2 weeks old and we give him Enfamil AR which is a thickened formula. Especially since he started eating baby food his reflux is much better. I know how hard that can be, so I feel for you!

Connor is rolling over tummy to back, but not quite sitting on his own yet. He sits really well propped and for a few seconds on his own before toppling over. He is also trying to get up on his hands and knees to scoot. He's an active little guy.

I hope your little one continues to get better!

Hi. My lil girl was born at 33+5 weeks. She was born 25th November and due 8th Jan. She was 5lbs 2oz. Im having real problems with her feeding. She is milk intolerant and I suspect she has silent reflux. She is fine though gaining weight (slowly), shes now 12 lbs 15oz. Wow, hes really caught up with his weight. She has just learnt to roll over today. Is your little one sitting up? Its nice to talk to someone in a similar boat.
