baby food vs. table food?

My 13 mo old still loves his baby food...he eats his baby oatmeal and yogurt for breakfast, 2-3 stage 2 jars at lunch and 2 jars at dinner and some of our food...just curious as to whether other babies his age still eat the baby food? I have no issue with it because I know that he is getting the nutrients that he needs....the fruits and veggies that he needs...he likes our cooked vegetables but absolutely hates the texture of fresh fruits...

My daughter recently had a bad cold and had a hard time eatting fruits and veggies without gagging because her poor throat was so swollen, so I gave her a couple jars of pureed food that we still had so that she'd the nutrients. Although I found regular oatmeal with frozen fruit and bananas and soup to work better.

Don't make the mistake I made with my 3 yr old. He ate baby foods all the time with a little of table food mixed in. Now, he only eats the same foods every day and will not try anything new. I didn't give my 14 month old any baby food and he will eat whatever is put in front of him. My 3 yr old definitely has texture issues, and I believe it was from always having baby food.

I never did jar food ( I made my own purees) but my daughter started purees at 6 months table/finger foods at 7 months and quit all purees by 8 months. She loves feeding herself. I found that she started drinking more from a cup when she started getting less liquid from her foods. Since he's eating so much baby food he doesn't need to drink as much liquid. He's getting it from his food. When he starts eating more table food he'll more than likely decide to drink more liquid.

he does eat what we eat, just not much...as i said before, i have no issue with him still eating the baby food, i was just curious as to whether or not other toddlers his age were still eating the jar food...he loves chicken and corn and green beans (from our plates)...my main concern is getting him to drink more...ever since we got rid of the bottle (except for the one before bedtime) he drinks very little during the day...that is another reason why i like that he still eats the baby food...there is more fluids in it than our food...

My girl is the opposit. She never had a taste for baby food. I got a few jars and tried making my own when she was 6 months and had no teeth, but was not interested in the texture. She eats what I eat and she loves fresh fruit.

My 13 month old actually started table foods around 8 or 9 months and since about 11 months has pretty much refused baby food or even toddler meals. She now wants what we eat, modified of course to be healthier and more appropriate

Sometimes my baby prefers his jar food more than the table food. We just give him what he rather have. Actually his favorite thing is bananas so we have to hide them while he is eating or he won't eat anything except for a banana.

i started giving my twin daughters table solid food since they were 10 month old, at the begining it was hard so i had to make it a little bit soluble and harden it time after time, and also try to give him fresh fruit slices in his hands now and then , he will start playing with it then he will like them after a while even if he licked an apple slice it will be ok. keep trying it is much of a hard work :))))
