My daughter is already 10 1/2 months old and I was wondering if anyone else has switched their child over to milk from formula yet?

lol excuse me lol i was just running threw names looking for the woman who is keeping my grandchild from the reat of my family and i saw your post, goats mill is more like mothers milk and is so much easier on the system because cows milk will soften bones later in life so ive heard, theres also: soy milk, oat milk, rice milk, goat milk, im sure theres another type of milk out there made from another plant of some sort lol the Silk- Soy Vanilla is way too good!! have a nice day :)

Hi Natasha, i've just starting giving my daughter (11months) cows milk in a cup occasionly i just put a splash of water in it so its not full strength. She loves it, but not as much as she loves her breastfeeds. I've never used formula she's just been exclusively breastfed.

I give mine a little bit of whole milk, but she is bf. A friend who gave formula introduced the cow's milk by mixing the 2.

I bf not formula but I have been using cows milk in her cooking for a while. A little bit is ok to get them used tot he taste etc but it shouldn't be their "main drink" until 1 yr. My sister is a paediatric dietitian and has told me all the potential problems from switching too early. Yes yes I know everyone knows someone who switched early and it was fine but I personally would not bother taking the risk. It is also to do with the protein content of the cows milk as well as the lack of other nutrients compared to breastmilk/formula.

My little one has been having the odd 100mls of cow milk here and there each day since she was 10 1/2 months as she won't touch formula. They do suggest that you wait until the age of one, but it's mainly so they get all they need out of formula as cows milk doesn't contain all they need. But my little one still breast feeds three times a day and eats really well, so since it hasn't affected her tummy, I see no reason not to. She is now 11 months.

Well, Your Not Supposed To Give Your Little One Cow's Milk Until They Are A Year Old. They Can't Digest The Cow's Milk That Well Yet And Plus They Still Need Their Formula Because It Has All The Iron And Minerals They Need To Stay Healthy. (:

No I'm waiting until he turns one year old to switch him over. He has bene having cow's milk in his food though and today out of curiosity gave him a couple of ounces in his sippy cup and he loved it. I'm just gonna give him formula one day then the next switch to cow's milk. If he has problems like my friend's daughter did with an upset stomach I'll then gradually switch him by mixing formula and cow's milk until he just drinks cow's milk alone =]
