Homemade baby food

I decided to make my baby's food--first stages--pureed veggies and fruits. I freeze it in ice cube trays and pop out an ice cube to defrost at feeding time. But, I noticed with the bananas and pears that they froze a lot darker than what they are fresh, a dark brown. I know this happens when you leave fruit out (fresh, not frozen), but I didn't expect it to turn out that way frozen. Is this normal and ok?

Thanks,
Diana

wholesomebabyfood.com is AWESOME! I just made my first batch of baby food today: sweet potatoes. I was wondering what to do about bananas. My son goes to day care so I guess I will just do those at home. I'd love some tips. This is my 3rd baby but the first time I'm making the baby food.

Yeah I was told not to freeze bananas and just to mash it freshly, the same with avocado =]

Yes, it is normal, don't worry there is nothing wrong with the food. The bananas will get really brown. If you are new to baby food making check out www.wholesomebabyfood.com. It is a really good website with recipes, hints, etc.
