Our daughter gets 3 strikes and then has to sit in time-out. Usually it is the kitchen rug. I set the timer on the microwave for 2 minutes and when she hears the beep then she knows that time-out is over. I then get down on her level and explain to her why she was in time-out and why what she did was no acceptable. Then I have her apoligize and give her a hug and kiss. Some days and for some things that works great and for other things it doesn't. It is just the age of being 2 I guess.

I make him go sit on the couch in time out that hurts his feelings more then anything :) I do raise my voice at him too WHICH I HATE!!

I use time out and a firm voice with J. It doesn't take much for her to know she has done something wrong though. She is very soft hearted.
