My son is 16 months and I'm due in August. I was just wondering if anyone knows the laws on this. I live in Oregon if that helps...

Child Protection Agencies

Child protection agencies can make judgments about children sharing rooms, based on the situation. The rule of thumb, in most cases, is for children to be separated by sex before the oldest child reaches puberty. In some cases, they will require children over five be separated by sex.

I use to live in Oregon three years ago. When I was on HUD, they told me it was at the age of 6 years. So pretty much when your eldest child turn 6 or starts school.

I figured it wouldn't be until they are like old enough to realize that they are different in certain areas, which is probably around age 6. thank you all for your responses.

I wasn't too sure, I was just wondering if I'm going to have to be looking at getting a new place because of my daughter coming into the picture. I think I will be good where I'm at for about 5 more years then.

Thank you for your replies.
