Sorry meant that the bladder muscles have only just developed at 18months.

I think it depends on where you live, we live in Australia so its winter at the moment so i'm not going to bother until the summer months (too many clothes to take on and off). Also we've got another baby on the way, she's going to be changing rooms so we figured its probably enough for her to get used to without adding the potty. I have heard that the bladder muscles haven't developed by 18months so its unlikley to be toilet trained before then, its just sheer luck. But after reading these posts and many others, then maybe that info is incorrect. Good Luck if you do decide to start.

No it is not too early my 14 year old was potty trained at 10 months (she wasnt even walking yet), my 9 year old was potty trained at 12 months, but my last one is now potty trained but she dont potty on herself over night. Just take her when you go and she will begin to want to go too.

Absolutely not! My son is 11 mths old and we have been working on the potty thing since 6 mths. He has really got the peeing thing down and loves to go on the potty now. We just gotta keep working on the pooing...but I plan to have him out of diapers within a month or two...so no...never to early! My girls were all potty trained by 14mths also. I call it parent training to begin with because I'm the one that is trained to take them all the time and to get them to go and to make sure there isn't any accidents, but it's definately worth every effort!

I honestly believe between the ages of 2 and 3 are good ages to start potty training, closer to three I think is typical. If it takes longer than a month or two to potty train, then they aren't ready. Also, I don't believe in pull-ups. It is nothin but a diaper and once they realize that nothing happens when they go in it, they will just treat it like a diaper. A week before my daughter turned three, all I did was put regular underwear on her and she was potty trained in a day with pee, and about a month for pooping. Hope this helps.
