Carrying: High vs Low..

With my daughter I carried high and all out front, had cravings and was sick for 2 weeks. This time around I am carrying low, no cravings, and never got sick but my memory SUCKS! With my daughter I had a "feeling" she was going to be a girl (we never found out the sex for her or this one) and once we had names picked hers was constantly on my mind. Same with this one except im getting the Boy feeling....we will see when it happens. I would say just go with your gut feeling. After reading everyones replies it seems all pretty random.

With my Son I carried high and low LOL he was so long, and again with my little girl she is sitting right in the middle as well

i carried my daughter very high, she lived under my ribs, her heart rate was always arounf 135 to 140. I had horrid morning sickness. This time round im having a boy, carrying low (though both are very out the front) his heart rate is the same as his sisters and i again had horrid morning sickness. My memory has been crap with both. The only diff is with my daughter i didnt want to eat anythign and this time im always hungry!

Well with my son I carried low throughout my whole pregnancy, this time it's a girl and I'm still carring quite low. I personally think for some women, the way you carry is determined by your body type and frame not te sex of the baby. Now there are some women who do hold truth to this wives tale. For me I always had a gut instinct on what my baby was before the ultrasound determined and I was correct some women just know. So follow your instincts but don't let what you want cloud your judgement, thats if you have a prefrence. Good Luck!

My first pregnancy ... I carried very high and all out front, heartrate in the 160's, could not remember ANYTHING, no morning sickness just could not brush my teeth with normal toothpaste, ate so much food but did not gain much weight ... It was a boy
This pregnancy I am carrying high but I am all around, my memory is pretty bad (I will even forget what I am saying) I had severe morning sickness and sever weight loss, I am eating so much again and the heartrate jumps each visit between 140 and 150 .. lol
I think it is a way for the older generations to guess and feel like they have extra knowledge, lol ... just my opinion :)

Well I can't go by the sickness thing, because this is my 4th, and I've never had morning sickness, cravings, nausea, swelling, over eatting/under eatting or anything with any of my pregnancys. They were as normal as could be. As for carrying my others, I never thought I carried high or low.. they seemed just to be in the middle. Either sex, it doesn't matter.

There is no for sure way to tell what sex your having based on pregnancy sypmtoms...the tale goes if you're sick all the time it's a girl = My friend's having a boy, is well into her second trimester and is lucky if her breakfast lasts past 8 am.

I'm carrying low, my friend is carrying high...we're both having boys.

Another tale is if the heartrate is below 145 it's a boy = Xandr has always had a heartrate of 153 but my friend's baby is usually below that



There is some significance on how you eat, or your desire to eat...studies have shown that women who are hungrier more often and eat more will have boys, and women who are more forgetful during their pregnancy will have girls.



But again there is no for sure symptom that says what you're having. My mother had 4 kids and all of her pregnancies were the same...she had 2 boys and 2 girls.

Everyone's different.

Only the ultrasound, or birth will tell.

I don't think it matters--my mom's relatively certain she carried me and my brothers low. I'm carrying a boy, low.

My son was carried low and I looked like I had a watermelon under my shirt. My daughter was high and I looked like I had a ball under my shirt. This one is a boy and I've been showing high from the beginning and look like I have a ball under my shirt so ... it's really all just an old wives tale and depends on how the baby develops and lies within. Congratulations and good choice on getting the boy things just in case!!

I don't know. I have always heard it is a old wives tells. I carried my two first boys low. I don't know about this one I am high and believe I am carrying another boy. I know others that carried their boys high and their girls low. It all depends on the baby and you. I guess. I will also find out soon if we are having twins or not..
