Just wondering if anyone else is using either of these during this pregnancy or has during a previous pregnancy....
My midwife recommends starting both at 36 weeks. For those who haven't heard of either, Red Raspberry Tea is a uterine tonic so it tones the muscles of the uterus and abdomen. I've read that it "focuses" the BH, makes l&d easier and recovery easier. Evening Primrose Oil is said to help soften things, mainly the cervix. It's meant to take orally earlier and then can be applied directly to the cervix, perineum and scarring from 38 weeks on.

I have been drinking the red raspberry leaf tea since 36 weeks, I dont mind the taste, but I dont really know if its helping at all, it has however triggered some of the worst heartburn that I have experienced my entire pregnancy. Though in the grand scheme of things, everyone I have talked to that has used it, says it worth it and it works, so I guess the heartburn is a small price to pay.

Taking both. Started today at 36.5 weeks. I'm hoping the RL tea will help the uterus contractions so afterward they are not so painful

Just so you know it's not just raspberry tea, its raspberry leaf tea. Its the leafs that have the extra "whatever" to help the uterus contract. It doesn't taste anything like raspberrys but it's alright. Not totally sold on it starting labour, but it is good for the uterus.

i've heard of it and some of my friends are using one of them or both. but not me. some say the rr lessens blood loss after birth and make recovery easier, even after c-section.
but it's fairly circumstantial, imo.
