Hey all,

I went in with contractions yesterday morning (only 30wks and 5days) - when they went to check my cervix a gush of blood came out in two big waves. Was looking at a c-section but baby proving strong and remaining comfortable so they want to keep him inside the womb to mature for as long as poss, pretty sure its the placenta partially or fully moving away but bleeding seems to have subsided for the time being, pethadine put a stop to my contractions and Im pleased to feel pain free for the first time in what seems like forever!! Not out the woods yet, need a scan tomorrow and if bleeding returns the I'll have an emergancy c-section and baby will be whisked to a better hospital, bleeding stops and remains stable for a few days then its just a case of waiting and hoping that he can stay put for just a short while longer. Keep your fingers crossed for me ladies, hope all your pregnancies are going with as few complications as poss, love to you and your bumps xxx

Oh Hazel, I can sympathize with your anger and frusterations. My first the hospital gave me a sleeping pill at 36 weeks that knocked me out for 3 days then induced me and had me deliver because they said my blood pressure was too high and far to dangerous for both me and babe.
This pregnancy I had bleeding at 6 weeks, 10 weeks and 12 weeks ... each time they told me I was having problems and they would not find the heartbeat. They even told me at one point that I was miscarrying and made me sit alone in the ER for 4.5 hours before I saw a doc or had an ultrasound to see that everything was normal. But I did have a high bloodpressure.
I made a switch to a midwife and could not be happier. Everything has seemed to be as perfect as could be now.
If you want to switch I say go for it. If you are not happy or feel like you are being cared for correctly, go for it. Who knows, you might get correct information from the new hospital and find out things are not as bad they the first hospital was telling you.
Best of luck through all this ... hope all 3 of you are doing ok

Came out again yesterday after another bleed on sunday... fourth time in now! I discharged myself against their advice as they won't listen to what I want for me and my baby - am thinking of changing my medical care over to another hospital, even though it's further away I just feel I need a second opinion etc.... I'm being lied to and fobbed off, all I want is whats best for my little one xxx

Best of luck to you...you're in the right place though and it sounds like the doctors are on top of things so I'd say you're in the right hands too. Just remember what you told us: the baby is nearly 5lbs and you've had steroid injections to help speed up lung development. I will keep your little family in my prayers that he can stay in the womb for as long as possible. In the meantime, I'l tell you this...my good friend has a little boy who was born at 28 weeks and he is now 4 months old, at home, and amazes everyone every day with how well he is doing.

Still praying for you and baby ... try to relax ... I know that is the hardest thing to do right now but try ... all the emotions running high and the stress of worrying doesn't help the situation. Please keep us posted!

I'm HOME! Baby has stayed put - thankfully! Had another scan on Tuesday and they said he now weighs around 4lb9oz - little fatty! So happy with his weight and very happy to be home. Trying to relax now but it is hard, cant help but worry .... apparently I lost over 2pints of blood - YIKES, very scary. They think the baby is now engaged but not too worried bout that just keeping my fingers crossed he'll stay put for at least another couple of weeks - even if he doesnt hes had the steroids and he's a good weight so should do just fine.

Cant help feel this is my fault for feeling smug at having a great pregnancy up 'til now with no morning sickness etc .... onwards ad upwards from here. Thanks again everyone for your support xxx

Thank you for all your messages we really appreciate them very much.
Had another bleed the night before last though it was a smaller bleed. STILL having contractions but my cervix isn't dilating - Drs in two minds what to do now though I think the general concensus is to just leave me in hospital a few days longer and just see what happens as these things are just too unpredictable and things can change in a moments notice!! Boyf propsed whilst in here bless him, he's been a complete star. Baby seems very healthy though and they said he weights about 4lb now even tho he's just 31wks and 1 day. Plus we've had steriod injections for his lungs, if he does arrive soon I'm sure he'll do just fine :D xx

Hoping that things are looking up for you and your little one, I had a nightmare last night that it was me in your situation and woke up drenched in sweat, having a rather emotional pregnancy and work is so stressful it takes a lot out of me to stay calm so may the good Lord keep you safe and calm for your little one's benefit!
