15 Weeks Pregnant And My Stomach Is Making Wierd Noises

I am 17 weeks pregnant and this is my first baby. I keep having loud gurgling noises coming from my stomach. what is this??

Thanks Teresa! I will definately mention that to my doctor. I wasn't really aware of preeclampsia, and I appreciate the information. I am so excited about being a mom! Congrats to you as well!

Hey there Lauranda!

Ok...I don't want to scare you, but it scared me when I read that you've been getting really bad headaches because I am also 15 weeks pregnant (with my second) and my nurse always asks if I've been getting headaches. I haven't been, but here's a paragraph I think you should read...

You should contact your doctor if you cannot get any relief from your headaches, or if the headaches get worse or more persistent.  If you have a headache that is different than normal or is accompanied by blurred vision, sudden weight gain, swelling in the hands and face or pain in the abdomen you should call your doctor right away.  During the second or third trimester of pregnancy high blood pressure can cause a rare condition known as preeclampsia.  These symptoms can be a warning sign of preeclampsia.  Headaches that are caused by high blood pressure are persistent and throbbing.  Preeclampsia only occurs in 5-10% of pregnancies.

I truely hope this isn't the case for you, but I would definitely mention something to your doc when you go in on Tuesday. Best of luck to you and congrats on being a first time mom! It's the best! :)

my guess is it's probably gas-related in some way...gross as that sounds. Most women experience either extreme when they are pregnant - diarrhea or constipation. Sadly you will probably experience one or the other in your pregnancy. I am pregnant with my 2nd now but I remember those first days of my first pregnancy all too well. Your whole body is adapting to the growth of the uterus so you definitely experience some "weird" feelings as it grows (it's much easier the second time around when the uterus is already pretty elasticated). Right now, your baby bump should be sitting pretty low but in the next few months it will start to move up. If the issue is up more in your rib cage area right now, it's probably just digestion or gas in your stomach. If you notice things that alarm you with the lower half of your tummy (belly button and below), definitely touch base with your doc. Good luck and congrats :)

hi Lauranda,

I'm also 15 weeks pregnant. My stomach isn't making the noises but it feels weird too..sometimes soft, sometimes hard...and the stretching pains..EEK!!! How are your hips? Some days mine ache like an old lady!!!
