With my daughter i hardly had sex and went 3 days past . My other babies I had sex all the time and went earlier . All were born healthy , but seems being more sexual makes things easier in my opinion .
As far as making it take longer from being sexually active .... that seems very odd . Almost all if not every dr will tell you that semen does help move things along , and acutally will help you ripen .
Just keep in mind , everyone thinks they are an expert , and even though the book is very popular it is not 100% accurate in all situations . I mean if semen helps your cervix ripen and orgasm can send you into contractions , I would just add 2+2 . And most of the time women are told to not have sex if there is fear of preterm labor ..... book is great , but take it with a grain of salt !

According to most Doctors and pregnancy books sperm helps soften the cervix, It's totally up to your baby when they want to arrive.

I have never heard of sex making you carry past your due date. Everyone else is correct...semen causes a reaction that helps in the effacing of your cervix, one thing they didn't mention is a female orgasim helps induce labor by causing your uterus to contract.

Well, with my 1st i had sex a few times a week and he was born on his due-date.
With my 2nd i actually had sex the morning i went into labor. I had sex, took a shower and 1 hour later i was in full blown labor which only lasted a total of 3 hours.
Sperm is supposed to have something in it that can hep bring on labor so i can't see why it would say it can make you do past your due-date? hm....

you ladies are lucky you are even getting sex! Pregnancy totally turns off my husband so I've only had sex maybe 7 to 10 times since I've known I was was pregnant. And I'm almost 29 weeks....so yeah LUCKY LADIES you are! lol.

We had sex at least that much when I was pregnant with our first child and she was born at 35 weeks, so it's not true in our case. :) Good luck with everything!
