I am 19 weeks and I keep feeling my abdomen/uterus muscles tightening up, usually as I get up from sittling or staighten up after bending over. It's not really painful, just concerning to me. Kind of feels like it's about to be a painful cramp but never goes there. Anybody else?

Like I had said in my post I had it happen at 15 weeks and again at 17 weeks. It only did it when I stood up and walked a few feet. I just stood there with my hands on my tummy. Didn't last very long, just a few secs then it was gone. I go back to the OB next week for my ultra sound and a check up, I will bring it up with my Dr to see what she has to say. I am now 18 weeks today.

I would say braxton hicks or even round ligament pain. Just take deep breaths and don't try to move too quickly when changing positions like thar. Good luck!

Sounds like Braxton-Hicks, but it's always a good idea to bring this stuff up with your doctor.

It could be braxton hicks.
Thats the practise contractions to make everything easier during labour :)
They start around 20 weeks but if your experiencing headaches, cramping, bleeding or anything else unusual with the tightening then id talk to your doctor or midwife

I am on baby #3 and I would say this sounds like round ligament pain, which is the two main ligaments from you groin area to your abdomen, and stretching is exactly what they are doing. I get the same weird pain when i cough too hard or sit too long. Could also be braxton hicks but from my experience braxton hicks are more an all over tightening than a stretching feeling. Good Luck and don't stress about it!

This sounds like a braxton hicks contraction. They normally start around 20 weeks so it could very well be that without concern. Your uterus is preparing itself and they say the earlier these start the easier the labor. Good luck!

I get that too, when I sit too long, and when I get up it tightens up like my muscles are stretching. I am 17 wks right now but when it first happened I was 15 wks, I had this weird look on my face I guess and I told my husband what I was feeling, he said maybe the baby was just stretching out.
