Hi there, I am 37 weeks pregnant with my second baby.

This morning I got up and all seemed well, went upstairs to have my morning decaf with hubby, probably 20 mins into coffee I ran downstairs to brush my teeth, when I stood up I had a gush of fluid. Quickly went to the bathroom to investigate, there was enough fluid it ran down my leg.

When I was in labor for my first child, the gush was enormous - I immediatley knew what it was - however, after this morning, I've had no more fluid come out? And no contractions.. should I just assume maybe with how far along I am this was just urine? Or should I head to the hospital to be checked out?

I've been researching - and read to lay down for an hour and stand up to see if there was more fluid and I haven't had anything else... the fluid was thin, colorless, and odorless - different from the CM I've been expeirancing.. Please any advice would help..don't want to bother the ER but will definetly go if there is more later - this happened about 2 hours ago - sorry if TMI... figured this was the best place to ask --

Just to update - I was infact leaking fluid. I went to the hospital again and still failed the test, was sent home being told once again it was urine.... Sure didn't feel like I was peeing. This time the nurse was nice enough to give me a swab so I could check at home when the fluid came.. that night Aug 21 I got a positive test at home.

Went back to the ER Aug 22, they wouldn't accept my test (for legality reasons) and once again told me it was urine.

I refused to leave without without an ultrasond (for personal reasons obviosly LOL) the nurse did an internal and was able to move baby off of my cervix, when she did sure enough there was fluid! I was induced that day, after my water being broken for at least 6 days and delievered a healthy baby girl, after 4 hours of labor.

Just incase anyone reads this, if you are certin your water has broken, do not let them tell you its urine until proved by ultrasound. My baby could have been seriously ill given the fact I was still bathing, having sex ect and infection could have easily set in. So happy this didn't happen, and all went well. Madelynn was born at 38 + 2 wks weighing 6lbs 5oz :)
