I no when you have morning sickness the last thing you think about is eating but i actually not hungry at all.

After visiting my midwife she was very angry I was losing too much weight too fast, 7lbs in a week. Now i am not that far along and i suffer with malnutrition normally but my midwife put me on supplements shakes to try and maintain my weight.
I am trying my hardest to increase my appetite but i am having no such luck. I do want to eat don't want to be stuck on these shakes all the time.

I am just wondering if anyone else had the same problems or something similar. Any advice would be good

Thanks Kara xxx

So how far along are you?

Well, I don't suffer from malnutrition but I do take protein shakes. I don't like meat, eggs, or dairy so there goes my protein intake. So I went to GNC and picked up Lean Muscle Meal replacement shakes. They cost $45 for a box of 20 packets. I also picked up Belly Bars which are bland but good to consume.

I'm a picky eater and prefer to consume raw fruits and veggies. Plus I like to work out so I've lost some weight. I do make sure that I take my prenatals and my shakes daily. Did you know that if your not keeping something in your stomach can actually make you feel even worse? During my first trimester I lived on saltine crackers, applesauce, and bananas. Now that I'm in my second trimester I'm back to eating all my fruits and veggies.

I did when I was pregnant with my first daughter. I lost about 14 pounds between my first and second trimester. I did the shakes on my own because I couldn't hold anything down. The only down side to them was the fact that they were expensive! I would tell you to start slowly, try eating a small something (like banana or some fruit or even a small bowl of cereal) for breakfast....if you throw it up at least you tried. Try to eat some soup and crackers for lunch. Once again if you throw it up at least you tried. Drink the shakes between breakfast and lunch and between lunch and dinner. Seriously even if you don't want to try. Set an alarm to go off at breakfast, lunch and dinner so you will remember to eat. I would say even if you throw up at least you are trying!
