Baby Shower and Man Shower....

We did the same thing when I was pregnant with our Son. We had Family from Santa Maria, Sacramento, Stockton and NEvada. All of the Ladies were at one house and all of the men at another. The men had the BBQ and Beer and they were asked to bring a pack of Diapers of any size. Between the gifts from both showers we were set. Babies use alot of diapers and at all different stages/sizes. This really helped us out on the cost of diapers. We had diapers until or Son was 1 years old. Of course we had to buy diapers in between sizes when they ran out, but it still helped alot. Have fun.

Were doing that too. How I see it, its a BABY shower.. not a mommy shower. =) This way my hubby gets to be there for important stuff, presents etc. and then him and his friends and the men in our family are going to have a bbq and everything in the backyard while the women do our girlie games.. and were going some group stuff as well.

oh, that's a great idea! the diapers are great but also the wipes, you will need wipes for about the next 5 years, kids don't learn how to wipe themselves very well for a while when they're potty training. plus wipes get stains out of everything for some reason.

your family will enjoy themselves whatever you do, people love baby showers. for ours we made about 1 dozen gift bags; bath and body works stuff in a little bag, and someone was in charge of a timer, so whoever's present we were opening when the timer went off, they got a gift bag.

so i just wanted to pop back in i was talking with some friends and they brought up the idea of a "daddy diaper party" basically its the same as the men coming to the shower but they all bring diapers as gifts neat idea i think

Sounds like our situation we decided to get everyone together were going to be grilling well the men are and while my girlfriends and i are playing shower games and all that the men will be drinking beer and playing poker also we were lucky enough to get a hall that had an onsite playground for the kids with a place for them to color and play with bubbles and all that we even have a few games the kids can do(were playing pin the diaper on the baby)

my "in laws" planned the same sort of deal. im not sure if it was intentional or not, but while we girls are inside for the baby shower the guys are planning on being there but outside BBQing and "shootin the shit".

I really like the idea, especially for our 'situation'. My boyfriends and I currently live almost an hour apart right now and I like that we'll both be able to be there, but he won't feel "out of place" or have to do all the girly things that typically happen at showers. This way he can celebrate with his guys friends and family members and see all the wonderful gifts we get too.

we do that with everyones showers I think it's the smartest thing to do because it gives the guys time to relax and talk too!

Haha, we've been getting gifts basically since the family found out I was pregnant, so I doubt we'll be having an actual shower. And since I have no women friends around here, I wouldn't let the BF leave my side! Being stuck with his family, half of them who have been trying to conceive and us with are happy accident! Scary. lol But that idea sounds excellent.

With my first shower a few of the guys did that and it worked out great! Just don't call it a Man Shower, I'd suggest just saying it's a BBQ for the guyes while the girls do there baby stuff.

Also, having kids at a shower are just fine, with a shower I threw there were several little kids there and it was a blast!

We're having a Family shower instead of a baby shower. The kids wanna be so involved with this pregnancy and most of my friends/family members have kids as well. We're just renting out a pavilion area at a park where the guys can do their thing if they wanna and all kids can play but everyone can be a part of the food, beverages, games, presents and of course, cake! lol ... we're gonna come home after and swim with anyone who wants to joining us too ... but your idea is a pretty darn good one too! lol ... just this is my hubby's first pregnancy and he doesn't wanna miss a thing and I want him to be a part of everything too as this is my first pregnancy with a supportive partner! lol ...
