Yes, the baby typically moves away when you "poke" it and at 21 weeks the baby's still pretty small so they can "hide" in other area's that aren't felt on the outside (or even inside at times).

Sometimes that happens to me. When my son is kicking, I will tell my husband so he can feel him moving and as soon as he puts his hands on my belly our son will stop moving. It's like he is teasing his daddy:) As soon as my hubby removes his hands, our son will start kicking and moving again!!!

My baby was just like that. I always said he was a shy baby haha he only would kick for me until he got a lot bigger!

my oldest refused to move for me but would move for my husbands hand only. My second would move for me and my mom but not my husband. It's kinda funny because when they were born my oldest is a Daddy's girl and my second is a momma's girl. LOL will be funny to see what happens with this one!

Oh yeah, it seems like mine is moving constantly but when i want someone to feel it he stops. I think it's their way of being funny.

when i was pregnant, my baby would kick me so much when i was feeling my own belly, but when my husband or anyone else put their hand on my belly, she would stop suddenly. i know a lot of people that had the same issue, so i don't think it's anything to worry about! however if you feel like it's concerning, ask your doctor about it, they can always do a non stress test and make sure the baby is ok! good luck!

Yes it is normal, there are times that my husband tries to feel the baby move and he stops moving all together, then he goes and sits back down and he will begin to move again.
