I've had some pretty bad back pain for the last couple of weeks. Its either to the left or right of my tail bone and then shoots down. Some days I can't bend over to pick up my little guy or put pants on! Sitting usually isn't an issue if I get in the right position.

Very common as far as I know. I am pregnant with my 5th child, and bending over, walking, turning over in bed hurts as well with the same pain. Does it kind of feel like somone just stabbed you in that part of your tail bone that hurts? If so, your baby could b pinching a nerve or something of that sort. I would say it's pretty common, but if your really concerned, you should get the best advice from your OB.

Im 15 weeks 4 d with my second and ive been dealing w the same probelm. I called my doctor to see what they suggested and all they said was that its sciatica and just to take tyenol. I found that walking helped relieve the pain at least for a little bit and raising my legs when im laying down. I hope it gets better! I know how annoying it can be to try and take care of a little one when dealing with this pain.

I had the same with my second too. I went to the physio who suggested a belt (like weightlifters wear). It helps so much - it never goes totally away but as you go along it does get worse if you don't do something about it. I ended up wearing it after the birth too cos that pain unfortunately does continue on until the relaxing hormone goes away.

sounds common, midwife told me that with 2nd pregnancies our bodys arent the same with Joints, muscles etc etc, so we feel the pain abit more this time round and sometimes alot earlier then normal!!

Go to a chiropractor i had pain like that with my third child and the chiropractor helps SOOOOO much!

it's probably your uterus putting pressure on your sciatic nerve. it's annoying and really painful at times. I found that going on hands and knees helped, as did doing yoga and pilates.

common, each pregnancy is different, just grab a heat or cool pack and that might help

It is probably just the way the baby is positioned. I wouldn't worry about it much. You could try a warm compress to help ease the pain. Hope this helps :)

Its not super common, but it is common. I think what you're describing is sciatic (sp?) nerve pain. Should be more manageable with sleep postions, really good tennis shoes, etc..
