Maybe if he does all the work lol. Probably not though seeing as the key word in bed rest is "rest" but ask your doctor, and good for you! I feel sorry for all the people who don't enjoy sex during their pregnancy, I know I am ;)

one of the biggest reasons a doctor puts you on bed rest, is to alleviate stress, high blood pressure and exertion. sex can raise 2 of these 3... you need to find out why the DR put you on bed rest in the first place. i wouldn't suggest it but in the end its up to you

I'm on bedrest but only because my doctor doesn't want me working. Usually if you are put on bedrest because of early contractions or high BP then sex is probably not a good idea... Call your doctor to check for sure. I know it seems kinda weird to ask, but they get those questions all the time.

You should ask your doctor. When I was on bedrest with my first child I wasn't allowed.

i have read all the post beneath mine, and i guess the opinions vary,as for me,i was put on bed rest for a week, but i am only 18 weeks along, and my husband and i still had sex.it was never anything i thought about bringing up to my doctor.i also didn't take it very serious though too, although i know i'll get some heat for,but the way i looked at it,i over worked myself at work, and at home there was still stuff as a mother and wife i had to do while my husband was at work,i think as long as you rest most the time, you don't have to ignore your household or your hormones

I'd say no way...your doctor put you on bedrest for a reason...probably becuase of preterm labor or something like that, Having sex would just cause your uterus to contract and that would help the opening of your cervix. I'd just lay low...I know the feeling though. I was on bedrest with my second child from about 32 weeks till 38 weeks. It's not fun, but it's what needs to be done to insure the health of your baby.

I've been on bedrest for a couple months now and will be until the end of this pregnancy. We've been having sex the whole time and my doctor doesn't have a problem with it. I think it depends on why you were put on bedrest in the first place, so I would definitely ask your doctor about it.

I was on bedrest as well as pelvic rest at the begining of my pregnancy.. Once they finally took me off pelvic rest, they kept me on bedrest for a few more weeks, but told me it was perfectly fine to have sex.

No you can not have sex while on bed rest!! it can throw you into labor! trust me i know! The doctor told me that there is something in mens sperm that can thin you and cause you to go into labor, basically some of the same thing in mens sprem are in the inducing medicine too. thats why doctors tell you at the end of your pregnancy to have lots of sex for that reason mens sperm help induce labor. So in my opinion i would say it is definately not a good idea to have sex if the doctor has put you on bed rest.

well i'd deff be careful for sure that you dont over exert yourself, since you are on bedrest...but i would also suggest asking your doctor.. as long as they didnt say "pelvic rest" as well as bedrest.. you should be fine..

I would say no. bed rest pretty much means no physical activities so sex in my opinion would not be a safe thing but its up to you. totally your call or you could talk to your doctor about it
