your baby will come when its ready. I had pre term labour contractions with my son at 32 weeks which i spent 3 days in hospital on medication to stop, so naturally we were convinced that he would then come early but no. he hung in there and i was induced at 40+2 due to pre eclampsia otherwise they would of let me go longer. Im now 35 weeks with my 2nd and already in engaged and my doctor said that i will likely go early but trying not to think about that because if shes like her brother i will go over lol

itll come when its ready. i delivered my first at 34 weeks. she was stillborn but we knew this. i had started to show signs of labor. i went to the hospital and they began to induce me dr says will take at least a day maybe 2. wrong! in 7 hours it was all over. drs cant really tell when the baby is gonna come. but you are pretty far along just hold out as long as you can and itll be ok.

The baby will come when hes ready. I know it sucks hearing that, but thats the only way to explain it. Dont rush him, lol. The whole time I was prego with my son, I was in the hospital atleast once, sometimes twice, a week. I was always bleeding and cramping. But the doctor said it wasnt affecting him at all. But it was still scary bc I know blood during pregnancy isnt normal. But we all thought he would be a preemie bc of ALLLLL the problems I had... WE WERE SOOO WRONG!! I finally went into labor at 42 weeks!!! lol And then with my youngest daughter, my doctor kept telling me she was going to come early. I had lots of contractions start when i was like 5 months along. Was even on bed rest. I had to be induced at 40 weeks exactly bc i wasnt going into labor on my own!! So anyhow, ya never know!! So just keep praying he stays in as long as possible!! When we get them here, were begging for time for ourselves!! =P Hope this helps ya!!

Just try and relax, don't stress and let whatever happens happen. Now a days there are so many things they can do to care for your child and make keep them healthy if you should go into labor early. Try and have a restful time until your baby gets here. Good luck and God Bless you!

We've had some complications since 32 weeks along, and I'm now at 37 weeks, I've seen my OB twice a week for ultrasounds and monitoring and been hospitalized once with the reality of having to have gone in more than that. By this point in your pregnancy the biggest concern is lung development and weight. My friend, the neonatologist said that for every day that you keep the baby inside growing, that 3 days they won't spend in the NICU. Good luck and I hope all goes well for you.

If you want your doc to check you, then ask. You have to be your health advocate and in a couple of months your son's. ANY time you are concerned, tell them or convince them if necessary. Their JOB is to help you through this. In the mean time, stop worrying so much. The stress will hurry things up unnecessarily. Yes, you and baby are closer every day to meeting, but isn't that the case with or without preterm issues showing up? You are doing great and baby hasn't come yet. Yay! Celebrate that, rest, and enjoy the last few days without the new demands on you.

Are you doing anything to help keep yourself comfortable and your mind off the pain? I really liked doing yoga and pilates. They both kept me in decent shape and forced me to focus on my breathing. Swimming takes ALL the weight off of you (talk with doc about this one though) and can be almost meditative.

Also, I read in an earlier post that you weren't ready. I will just say this, you will never be as ready as you think you need to be. We are on our third and still feel this way.

Hope this helps.

it probably does depend on the doctor... i really want the baby here soon but i dont want him to show up just yet the longer the better.. less chance of problems... ive been so sore and miserable this last week or two but the doctor doesnt seem to think its anything... other than my body and baby getting ready.. and hasnt checked me for dialation even tho ive had problems with preterm labor contractions... do you think im just getting worried about nothing or is it a viable thing to worry about when u dont think ur doctor is doing enough?

They started checking me as soon as I hit my third trimester at every appt.....today at 33 weeks was the first appt they haven't checked my dilation at in the third tri because they weren't worried about it. I think it just depends on your doctor.

im 34 weeks now and things just seem to still be moving towards him maybe showing up early but im not going to stress to much about it... if it happens it happens.. they didnt give me anything for the contractions at home however they did give me a few shots at the hospital when i have gone in to stop contractions.. my doctor said his head is down and it wont be to long now.. it just feels like hes getting closer and closer to coming everyday.. i get more and more pressure and feel him moving in the pelvic area quite abit and i get cramps... most likely braxton hicks or so my doctor says... i have not been checked for dialation since my last preterm contractions about a month ago.. and i wasnt dialated then but i havent been checked since... just wondering but when did they start to check some of u?

hey! I am 35wks3dys I actually have been in twice that they stoped preterm contractions an they did that fetel fibronectin on my twice as well!
I know what you mean about having the nagging feeling that the baby will come early, becuase for the longest time that was what I was feeling as well.
Did they perscribe you somthing like niphedipene for when you are at home and start having contractions? I know that was one thing that put me at ease, becuase those pills work sooo well. On top of that tho, its been about a week or so that I have not had anymore of those contractions. So, I went from almost feeling sure she was going to come early, to now I think I will cary full term an even feel like I might be induced after my due date.
I had a similar thing happen with my first daughter and ended up being induced 4 days after my due date! So I wish you the best of luck, just stay low, dont do allot of walking around in the grocery store, dont pack anything around, and maybe talk to the dr what all your restrictions are (those are some of mine) Take care hun!

i am 35 weeks on sat and have only gained 10lbs.. my midwife had me have another ultrasound yesterday to check on the babies size and weight just to be sure all is well in there.. this is just how i carry and she is healthy as a horse! So far she's 4lbs and 12oz (theyre suposed to be approx 5lbs at this point so only 4oz behind no biggie) but I also was concerned as Ive been having pre term contractions as wel.. not braxton hicks either! Im talking severe period cramp like contractions! but the key is to not over do it and keep your feet up as much as possible throughout the day however i have 4 other boys to take care of and a house to keep up with so i dont always follow my own advice!? Im nervous because my last baby (8yrs ago mind you) basically fell out!? lol ;P I woke up in hard labor at 2am and he was born at 2:32am after only pushing 3 times!! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and please do the same for me! Good luck and God bless! xo ~Suzanne

Don't worry over it bc stress can cause preterm labor. You are 33 weeks so if you can just hold out for a few more weeks you will be just fine. My twins were born 4 weeks early and although they spent time in the NICU, they are perfectly healthy and fine. (They are 16 months now) With this baby I keep feeling like she is going to come early as well. I am only 27 weeks and I have not had any reason for this concern except that I think bc of my twins I just get nervous about it. I keep reminding myself that what's goign to happen is just going to happen and all I can do is take care of myself the best way possible and not worry. Even if there are complications, the time my twins spent inthe NICU was some of the most precious moments my husband and I ever had together and with our new babies. Don't be worried about possibilities or anything that is not absolute. Just be sure you do everything possible to keep yourself healthy and do everything your doctor says to do. Again, in a few weeks your baby will be just fine and ready to make his appearance! GL and congratulations!

At 33 weeks the baby has a very very high percentage chance of living, so even if the baby does come now at least it will most likely live. I have always been worried about it because I have been having a lot of issues as well, but I at least find it comforting that after 32 weeks babies tend to live unless they have major complications, since they are pretty much fully developed at that point just some fine tuning going on in the last couple weeks! Hopefully the baby stays in though and everything goes well!! :-)

im 35wkz and havnt had any preterm labour signs bt personally i feel like my bub guna come soonish and im worried as my bump size is small compared to most around this time in pregnancy...but i kinda feel okay if bub comes now as they say after 24wkz most babies have a higher chance of suriving as most development in their bodies is ready for birth just the last few months are them gained wieght and getting ready for the outside world??? so for me having only 5wkz to go is not long bt i wouldn't mind if bubz comes early if bubz decides too...i do want ma mum home for the birth bt if she dnt make it thats kul bt she b home a wk b4 due date so fingers crossed everytink goes to plan hehe...but hope all goes well wiv u and your baby will be great to see how it goes

they were going to take our 2nd one early at 34 weeks. it TOTALLY FREAKED me out! i could not stop crying that day. her issue was that she was too small, so i stayed in bed to maximize blood flow and ate and ate and ate. she got up to 6 pounds by the time she came on her own, 5 days early.

as my doctor told us, once she is out, they can take good care of her if she did have to come early. so as scarey as it is, thankfully, technology is so far advanced that your baby will be okay if he comes early. but it is heartbreaking to hear that you may not have the birth that you envisioned.

let me know how other things are going for you. i was thinking about you this morning. send me a message.

Like everyone says... the baby itself will decide when to come out. My second child, I had the same concerns you had, my son was born three weeks early.

My advice to you is this. relax, rest, stay away from any stressful situations and you should be good. Don't be too concern if you child will be born early, just deal with it... (sorry to be so blunt), but I had to. My son was also born with a heart murmur, and a mild case of sleep apnea. I am still dealing with it, but he is a happy and healthy child. You will be good.
