i am a us marine. i cant take a day off from work. i wish that i could. lol. i am due on april 14 we are having a girl we named her tracy jade riddle. i am very lucky because both me and my husband are both active duty military and thank god we are not deploying anytime soon. my unit is very understanding of the pregnancy. i work on a helicopter. but right now i work on the supply side of the unit so all i do is drive or walk to supply and pick up parts. thank god that it is not that bad. its good for my legs and it would help me loose the weight after i have the baby. unfortunitly i am not allowed to get any days off till the day i pop. i get only 6w with the baby then i have to go back to work. god i hate it so much!!

i am really worried about the child care but i am in a military town and i can tell that its going to be ok because there are a few females in my unit that have their child in child care.

Im due with our first on April 14th! I am a teacher so it works out great for me, I will go on maternity leave for the remainder of the school year and return in September. That will give me plenty of time home with my little boy, and he will be about 5 months when I go back to work :)

I am due April 30th!!!! Super excited and the one thing i cant do now is see my hoo-haa! LOL i tried to shave last night and I couldnt do it lol. Forget about tying me shoes!!! I have been wearing crocs and other slip on shoes! Didnt think it would be this bad when im only 25wks. Though the doc did say hes a big boy.

Hi. I am expecting my little surprise on April 25th. I have a son who is 8 months now. When I got pregnant with my son my husband would not let me work at all. i want to get a job but he refuses to let me apply anywhere. We'd reather have our kids at home with us than at a day care or with a babysitter.

I'm due April 15th with a baby girl. Quit my job early on in pregnancy. I had planned to find a part time job closer to home but no luck. Cant say I havent enjoyed the time off but I plan to go back to work when the baby is 3 months

I'm due April 11 with my first child, a boy! :) I am a school teacher (8th grade math) and a group exercise instructor (BodyPump, BodyCombat, and BodyStep.) I have already had to give up BodyStep, as my heart rate was getting way too high. I am still teaching the other two exercise classes with modified movements to keep me (and him) safe and keeping my exercise regimen somewhat normal has helped me cope with the fatigue and sore back. I get really tired at school, and it's hard to keep my calm/patient nature I need to keep class running smoothly. It's a true challenge sometimes! But every chance I do get, I sit down and prop up my feet and take deep breaths. I get leg cramps in the middle of the night, but drinking more water by day has helped relieve a little bit of that. Take good care of yourself and try to get a good 8 hours of sleep (although that 8 hrs is often interrupted by potty trips in the night). I won't quit working until I'm too uncomfortable to be at school, as I'm trying to stretch my maternity leave right through the end of the school year if possible. Don't want to have to find a sitter for a 6-week old for only one week when hopefully I can stay home with him from birth to next fall when I go back to teaching school.

Hi Jessica, I'm due April 7th also. Are you able to cut your hours back and go part time instead in the last trimester? I did that with my second child and felt a lot better about work, I had a lot more energy as well. That way I worked up to when baby was born. Just don't push yourself too hard because before you know it your absolutely buggered. Good luck with everything.

I'm due April 24th, and April 7th is my birthday, congrats! I'm a CNA and constantly on my feet as you are. I'm on my last limb working! I want to call it quits everyday and put in my two weeks. I'm not exactly sure when im going to stop working. I've still got about 3 months to go, but I'm not sure when exactly I'll get fed up enough to stop.

April 2, 2010, is my due date, Second time around for me, a little boy this time, and my daughter is only 14.5months old, haha, they were back to back, but sooo worth it. I QUIT my job this time, worked entirely through the first one. If u can, try and bare it until 37 weeks, then u can take maternity leave, and depending on what state u live in, u can have ur dr give u a longer Mat.Leave time, I live n California, and i had a C-sect the first time, and took almost 16 weeks off. haha

I'm due April 29th with my second boy. Not working now but did factory work with my first son. It was hard work, but it was probably better I did cause I got a lot of exercise then, whereas now I'm not and I wound up having gestational diabetes this time around.

Hi. I'm expecting a little boy April 30. this is my second pregnancy. For my first pregnancy I had to go on sick leave at the end of October and delivered in December 9 due to having ongoing morning sickness that made working in a hardwarestore near impossible. For this second pregnancy I choose a call center job so that it might be a little easier. So I know what you mean about trying to figure out when to go on leave. If you are in Canada and you are having trouble with working you may be able to go on sick leave with a doctors note so that you don't have to use up precious maternity leave time. most doctors want you to be well rested for delivery and waitressing does not help with that. I'm hoping to go on leave 2 weeks before my duedate.

I am due April 21st. This will be our first. I also work full time as a RN. At the begining I had planned on working till I go into Labor. But now the my feet are frequently swelling and my back hurts constantly when I work my 12 hour shifts, I am thinking maybe take off a week or two before she is due. Not for sure yet though.

im a waitress as well! im starting to feel more in the way then actually helping out in the kitchen any more so ive switched to hostessing..i dont want to quite work all together up until the doctor says something becuase i feel like i get excersise from walking around the resturaunt. i dont know how im going to feel in a few months tho becuase this is my first baby too

Hey Jessica! Im Mira and this is also my first child..im due april 30th and im having a baby girl. I am also have a full time job as a video editor for a local news station which can be veeery stressful. but i try not to over exceed myself because since i got pregnant my baby's health is more importnatn then anything. but i do plan on working up until the day i give birth...thats what i would like to do but i cant speak for my baby. :)

Idk I guess it is ok but that is onlly because rightnow I sit at a desk and do paper work(soooo boring). Anyway good luck with your pregnancy.

About the working thing, I think you should work up until you're comfortable. Some people work all the way up until they go into labor with no problem. Some have to quit early on. Listen to your body. Only you know what you're limit is. I'm 26 weeks and I'm still working. In my job I stand on my feet most of the day. Unlike most though, I am fortunate to work with family who is also expecting. So they are a little more understanding than most bosses. If I get too tired or need to sit for a minute, they are pretty cool about it. With you being a waitress that's not really possible. Like I said, listen to your body and know your limits. If you work past your limit you are putting stress on yourself and your baby. Best of luck!

I've been looking for jobs, but with the complications, it's just not worth the stress for me to try and work right now.

I am expecting April 2, 2010. I have a 10 year old girl, a 5 year old boy, a 4 year old girl and a 17 month old boy. This next one is going to be a boy. I will not stop working until the end of March, early April. I am going to work as long as I can. I will not have an Income for the months I will be off so I need all the money I can get. Especially with all my children. (Not the soap opera, even though it feels that way sometimes.)

Hello all...I am expecting around the 29th of April...I can't prove it but when my job found out i was pregnant, two days later I no longer had a job. We aren't finding out the sex of the baby but I have still been doing what I can around the house and in the gym to get exercise from not being able to work...Take care all

my name is heaven. i am due april 1st. when i first fount out that i was pregnant i was working at sonic drive-in. after i was 3 months i moved back to my home town to be with my friends and family. i called it quits after 3 months because thats all i was doing was getting up early and leaning over the trash can at work. i was barely working while i was there.. but hopefully after my baby is born i will get back to working but not in a fast food restaurant. i think you can handle it.

I'm due April 6th, I gave up full time work after our wedding in Feb becasue we were commencing IVF trearment. Turned out to be a good thing though as I got really sick and ended up on forced bed rest from all the meds. That being said though, I work for a local gym where I do casual shifts on the counter or in the creche, nothing really strenuous. I also do a bit of freelance work where I call the shots and only accept the jobs I really want to do. If you really need to work full time for financial reasons that's one thing, but if you can cut back I would highly recommend it!

My name is Alexandria and i am due April 28th and i have an almost 4 year old and i work full time. Right now it is killing me and it has for the last while, as i am so exhausted all the time. But i can not stop working until as close to i have the baby as i can otherwise it will mess with the mat leave that i get. So i am going to toughen it out for a while yet. I spoke to my doctor about it and she said that most women work up until 36 weeks for sure and then just take it from there, depending on health conditions and stuff. I know some women have worked up until the day they go into labour but i dont think that will be me. I am aiming for the end of March and then will go from there. Good luck!

I'm due April 12, 2010 and expecting a girl. I'm not a first time mom (this is my 2nd girl). I'm gonna keep working until I go into labor or my OB tells me I can't. I have to work to support my daughter and myself. I'm already very exhausted though but don't have a choice. But I wouldn't work if my body couldn't handle it.
